In an interview with The Lallantop, Aasif recalled an incident from 1998 when they were shooting for the film Bandhan. Salman was known for being quite a risk-taker in his younger days. Aasif mentioned how back in those days,

“We were young and Salman had an Esteem at that time. He made me sit next to him and he started driving everywhere on the footpath, on the road.”

Aasif who sitting beside him, was worried and said,

“Salman, pakde jayenge! (Salman, we will get caught!)”

But Salman, full of confidence, assured him by saying,

“Pakde jayenge toh yaar Salman Khan hain, ghabrao mat. (Don’t worry, even if we get caught, you’re with Salman Khan.)”

However, things didn’t go as smoothly as Salman had hoped. Just as he finished saying that, a traffic policeman stopped them. Salman rolled down the window, expecting to get away easily, but to their surprise, the cop didn’t recognize him at all.

Recalling the incident with laughter, Aasif Sheikh shared,

“Salman rolled down the window and the traffic police actually did not recognize him.”

This prompted Salman to jokingly remark,

“Isne toh pehchana nahi (He didn’t recognize me).”

Aasif, playing along, teased Salman, saying,

“Maine kaha shirt utaar, shayad pehchan le (I said, remove your shirt, maybe he’ll recognize you).”
