An IndiGo passenger flying IndiGo from Chandigarh to Delhi encountered an issue at the check-in counter when two different scales displayed different readings for the same piece of luggage. The passenger reported a discrepancy raising concerns about the accuracy of the weighing machines at the airport.

The passenger explained that he initially suspected an issue because the weighing scale reading displayed a weight that seemed heavier than his bag. When he voiced his concerns to the IndiGo staff member at the counter, he was asked to weigh his bag on a different belt. However, when he did so, the second scale also showed a different reading, further fueling his doubts.

Shocked by the incident, he further questioned the trustworthiness of the weighing machines, stating,

“Can these weighing systems be manipulated? I hope this is just a rare technical glitch. My bag didn’t feel as heavy as the scale indicated, so I checked it on another belt as suggested by the staff. To my shock, it displayed a completely different weight! Such inconsistencies shake our trust in the system. I hope this issue is taken seriously.”

Weighing scale needs calibration. This should be taken care by BHS supplier as well as airport operators.

Someone also added,

“I have gone through this. I travelled 4 airports on the same trip with the same luggage on my way back there was an increase in 12 kgs in total of my entire luggage. 3 items in total. It was just impossible. Forget shopping or adding more items my bags should have had a weight reduction because things had been eliminated during the trip. Was travelling alone with a child to a different state and it was quite the harassment.”
