The X user, with the username @AviGupta155921, alleged that a food item he ordered turned out to be unfit for consumption. “URGENT. I received fungus-infested Milk Cake in Order #7688285760.”

He went on to explain the impact it had on his health, stating,

“Consuming this has caused me to vomit and fall ill. This is a severe food safety violation.”

What should have been a routine order reportedly escalated into a distressing and physically unsettling experience.

To further strengthen his claim, the user mentioned that he had proof to back his allegations.

“Please look into this immediately. I have photos as proof.”

He added this while tagging Zomato and its customer care handle. The attached images were meant to corroborate his version of events and underline the seriousness of the situation.

Responding to the alarming complaint, Zomato acknowledged the customer’s experience and expressed regret over the incident. In its reply, the platform stated,

“It’s really unfortunate to hear what you have gone through, Avi. Rest assured, we’ll take this up with the restaurant partner.”

While the response indicated that the matter would be escalated to the concerned outlet, it did little to immediately address the health concerns raised by the customer.

Unsatisfied with the reply, the customer responded firmly, demanding concrete action rather than assurances. He wrote,

“I demand the following immediately: A full refund of the order amount and an investigation into the restaurant’s hygiene standards to prevent this from happening to others.”

Emphasising the seriousness of the issue, he reiterated that this was not an isolated inconvenience but a serious food safety lapse.

Backing his demands, the customer once again highlighted that he had evidence to support his claims.

“Please find the attached photographic evidence of the moldy food. I await your urgent response.”
