Food delivery apps have made ordering meals easier than ever, but occasional delivery mishaps still leave customers frustrated. One such incident has recently surfaced on social media after a customer alleged that his food order arrived in a broken container, leaving the meal spilled, cold, and in poor condition. The complaint, shared on X (formerly Twitter), has sparked discussion online about delivery standards and packaging practices used by restaurants and food delivery platforms.

The complaint was posted by X user Koushik Vijay, who tagged Zomato and its customer support handle Zomato Care while requesting a refund.

In the post, the customer shared an image showing biryani spilling out of a cracked clay pot. The earthen container appears to have broken from the side, allowing rice to fall out through the hole and into the outer packaging.
Referring to his order (Order No. 7970531161), he wrote:
“Pot has been broken, cold food and stale food. Lot of biryani got spilled into cover. Need refund.”

This incident sparks concerns over packaging in food delivery services
As online food ordering continues to grow in popularity, platforms like Zomato rely on restaurants and delivery partners to ensure orders reach customers in good condition. However, incidents involving fragile packaging occasionally lead to complaints and refund requests.

Food industry experts often recommend that restaurants use sturdier packaging for delivery orders, particularly when serving dishes in delicate containers such as clay pots.
