Tina Dabi’s father is Jaswant Dabi, General Manager of the Northern Telecom Project Circle of BSNL. Her mother is Himani Dabi who is a former Indian Engineering Services (IES) officer. Tina Dabi mother was also a topper of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal. Himali cleared the UPSC exam. She took voluntary retirement to help her daughters prepare for the UPSC exam. Tina Dabi sister Ria Dabi is also an IAS officer.

To prepare for her UPSC exam, she took admission in RAU’s IAS Study Circle, New Delhi, she was just 18 years old then.

At the age of just 22, she cracked the IAS exam (UPSC 2015) on her very first attempt. Tina Dabi secured 1063 marks out of 2025 (52.49%).

She is the first-ever Scheduled Caste (SC) woman to secure the 1st rank in the IAS exam.

On 29 June 2018, she won the prestigious President’s Gold Medal for her two-year training program at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.

• She joined the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises of the Government of India as an Assistant Secretary on deputation for 13 weeks in 2016.
• She received her first posting as Assistant Collector, in Ajmer, Rajasthan in 2017.
• Tina was appointed as the Sub-Divisional Officer or SDO and Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Bhilwara, Rajasthan on 26 October 2018.
• She was posted as CEO of Zila Parishad, Sri Ganganagar in July 2020.
• In the same year, she was appointed as Joint Secretary of the Finance (Tax) Department in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
• Tina Dabi took charge as the 65th District Collector and Magistrate of Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district on 6 July 2022.

But the vacancies in the Haryana cadre were already allocated to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category. So, she got the Rajasthan cadre which was her second preference.

Tina Dabi first husband is Athar Aamir Khan. During the IAS felicitation ceremony at the DoPT office in Delhi, Tina and Aamir first met in 2015. They fell in love during their IAS training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy for Administration in Mussoorie. They registered their marriage on 20 March 2018 and on 7 April 2018 they got married following religious marriage rituals.

While training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy for Administration, they took a trip to Paris, Rome, and the Netherlands.

In November 2020, after two years of their marriage, Tina Dabi and Athar Aamir Khan filed for divorce proceedings in a Jaipur family court. Once their marriage made headlines when Tina Dabi had removed her surname “Khan” on social media. Tina Dabi husband Athar Aamir Khan unfollowed her on Instagram around the same time. They were granted divorce by a family court in Jaipur in August 2021.
