You can now carry internet in your pocket and browse anything anytime you want to. This has been only possible due to the high speed internet facilities provided by the technology. It’s time to watch your favourite movie without buffering and can tune into your play list anytime. Facebook, Wikipedia and Google Chrome is something that we can cannot imagine there was a life before that. But certainly there was!

1. When someone in the house just made a phone call and the internet got disconnected

This was the most frustrating moment while using internet at home. The internet got disconnected if their was a call made on your landline. However firstly we were asked to disconnect if there was a call to made which was somehow acceptable and gave us the patience to wait. But it was intolerable when someone called on the landline and took hours to complete their talk. What disastrous feeling it was!

2. The virtue of tolerance

A slow internet is something which makes everyone annoyed. It takes a complete patience test and can ruin your mood in every possible way. But the torture what we are facing today is nothing compared to what the people of 90s faced. For every 2 MB it took a minimum time of 10 minutes!

3. The absolute trust of Internet Explorer

In the past years, Internet Explorer was the only browser used for Internet. People had no choice rather than using that it and internet explorer was only the savior at that times. But today there are numerous browsers that are made in use and gives a high speed. Thanks to the developing technologies!

4. The excitement of discovering adult movies

Somewhere between sharing CDs of American pie and MMS scandals, we all grew up. The teenagers were completely into approaching all the adult sites they could and had much curiosity related to it. Although the internet was too slow to play the movies, still as said something is better than nothing! They would somehow compromise and ignore everything for a whole new world out there!

People not having internet or a computer at home were not lucky enough. But there is always a way out. At that times ‘cyber cafes’ were the only hope for those people. There were at least one cafe in every local street. The young kids would save their pocket money and invest in doing something interesting like chatting with random people on Yahoo Messenger, browsing out some random stuffs and much more. The young people of today must feel lucky and proud that today they have everything on their finger tips!

As if there were mails of some urgent business meetings, the kids of 90s were too excited and conscious for the messages on their accounts. They would regularly visit a local cyber cafe and logged in to their accounts just to make sure there were no mails from their near ones. Cheery on the cake was seeing ‘Inbox’ 1 and would put a smile on the young faces.

7. The sound like dubstep music the modem made when the connection was being made

A shrieking and scratching noise would be made once the connect button was hit on the modem. This sound would somehow be felt like something with musical notes. However it was not at all pleasing to the ears but you had no way out to stop that annoying sound.

8. Going on ‘dates’ with your partners in the local cyber cafes

People at that times preferred cafes to spend time with their partners for the couples. The small sized cabinets used to be the best place to go on a date as it gave a complete privacy and there was no one to check you out. Paying 15 bucks for an hour and spending time being undisturbed was something worth it!

9. Webcams and chatrooms

Chatting with strangers is something we all love doing. In 90s Yahoo and AOL made it possible where you can connect to random people around who can actually be a better part of your life. However some conversations are going to be horrible, still having good conversations is always fun.

Using emoticons in conversation keeps it going a long way and makes the conversation much interesting. The teenagers at that times had much zest about using those cool and funny faces to express their feelings or mood.
