The popularity of the first season of Shark Tank India increased by multifold not only for the awe-inspiring pitches but also for the memes and jokes. Rejection of Recode’s pitch
The pitch for Recode, a makeup brand, made by two small-town entrepreneurs was rejected in the first episode of Shark Tank Season 2. The devoted followers of this show are hugely disappointed with the blatant rejection of Recode’s pitch by the judges.
Since Recode would pose as a direct competition to Vineeta Singh’s own makeup brand, Sugar, all the sharks rejected the proposition except for Peyush Bansal. Vineeta Singh was even stunned when she got to know that even Sugar follows Recode on Instagram. The fans took to Twitter to criticise their biased decisions.

On #SharkTankIndia, VineetaSingh rejected the pitch of a cosmetic brand coz she too owns a cosmetic brand. AmanGupta & NamitaThapar rejected it coz they don’t invest in ‘friends’ rival businesses’. That’s UNFAIR! The show should have venture capitalists instead of CEOs as judges.

This is not the first time that the sharks pulled something like this happened on the show. Previously the same fate was witnessed by Hammer which was rejected by Aman Gupta.
