Kuhad was born into a Hindu Jat family. His father is a lawyer and his mother is a teacher. He also has two sisters.

3. Prateek’s educational qualification

Kuhad is not only talented in music but also has a sharp mind. He did his schooling at Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya in Jaipur. After completing his schooling in Jaipur, he moved to New York. He attended New York University’s College of Arts & Science. He pursued a double major in Maths and Economics at New York University before moving to Delhi to pursue a full-time career in music.

4. Prateek Kuhad’s first job was not related to music

After completing college he first used to work as an Economic Consultant for around four to five months, in New York. Later on, he realized that he did not want to continue that for the rest of his life. Then he returned to India and started working on his music.

Their favourite artists were Harry Belafonte and Cliff Richards. He also listened to his sister’s playlist. The playlist consisted of the songs of Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana. All of these playlists piqued his interest in music.

8. Music was not Prateek’s first love

Reportedly, Kuhad had no plans to pursue music professionally, till the video of the song Raat Raazi, which was shot on a phone—went viral on YouTube. After that, he started getting gigs and decided to give music a year. If things worked out in favour then he would continue, if not then he would have gone back to doing what he was supposed to.

9. The Cold/Mess singer is comfortable singing in both English and Hindi

Prateek was comfortable with communicating both in English and Hindi from the very start of his career and has been writing in both languages. There was no internet service in Jaipur during his childhood, so he predominantly used to listen to Indian pop and Bollywood music. Kuhad listened to Western music occasionally only.

It is also known that Prateek was inspired by a kid of the same name sometime during his visit to UP. The kid is said to have outstanding vocals. He also got inspired by Lucky Ali.
