A film based on Carol Danvers has been in development at Marvel Studios since the early May 2013. Though we only came to know about this by the credits of Avengers Infinity War. Captain Marvel is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel.
Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is intended to be the twenty-first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Let’s look at what do we know about her from the Comicverse and the leaks we have till now.

The little-known history about Captain Marvel is that the whole of the plot is set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot. As she turns into one of the galaxy’s mightiest heroes or as latest magazine articles like to put it ‘Most Powerful hero Marvel will see’ and joins Starforce, an elite Kree military team, before returning home with new questions about her past and identity when the earth is caught in the center of an intergalactic conflict between two alien worlds.

Childhood
Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel, grew up as the oldest child of three in a trademark Boston home, father who was a contractor believed in the merits of hard work. When he built their Cape Cod summer home, Carol as the only daughter insisted on working as hard as her two younger brothers.
This was a attempt to try to make equal in her father’s eyes. Her father, however, could not accept women as men’s equals. Later she joins the US air-force as she has to pay off her college fees.

Carol’s genetic structure was altered effectively making her a half-Kree superhuman. She was unaware of this change for months.

Nick Fury’s Intel classified Captain Marvel as a power level 8. To put it in perspective professor X was a level 5. She possesses superhuman strengths, sixth sense and can temporarily increase her physical strength to levels similar to that of her time as Binary.
Captain Marvel’s musculature produces considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity (compared to a human like Iron man) than the musculature of an ordinary human. She is said to absorb energy and channel it to increase her stamina too. The tissues of her body are considerably tougher and more resistant to physical injury than those of us.
She has a set of amazing reflexes which she gained in the US air-force and improved over time. It is needless to say, she doesn’t need a plane to fly. She can fly at three times the speed of sound for several hours.

Captain Marvel i.e Carol Danvers started out in the comics as a United States Air Force fighter pilot. Not to mention she soon became NASA’s security chief. When Carol Danvers was introduced in the late 1960s, it is a know fact that she had no superpowers, but a member of the U.S. Air Force who aided the original Kree Captain Marvel. She joined the military at the age of 18 in order to pay for college.

3. The very first version of her origin story
In the initial version of her origin story, Captain Marvel i.e Carol Danvers took up the moniker of ‘Ms. Marvel’. Well, it is a established fact now that it was derived from ‘Mar-Vell’, the superhero from whom she got her powers.
4. Story behind her costume
Woman superhero’s costumes have always been in controversies. The first edition of Captain Marvel’s costume was immediately met with big ‘No-No’ as the oddly placed cut-out was considered inappropriate and impractical by readers and designers alike.
