Brie Larson For captain Marvel

To achieve success in life one has to get out of the comfort zone. It is this message that Captain Marvel gives to the fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But what is even more inspiring is the fact that American actress, singer, and director Brie Larson, who plays the titular character, gave her all to step into a role that required her to participate in high-octane action sequences.

The movie, Captain Marvel, releases on 8 March 2019, which is about a month before the most awaited movie “Avengers: Endgame”. In Captain Marvel, Brie Larson plays the role of Carol Danvers who is a US Air Force test pilot.

Captain Marvel has the powers to move a planet. So, in order to do justice to that role, Brie Larson underwent the toughest training. Let’s find it out.

Trained for 4 hours every day for nine months

Larson was trained by Jason Walsh, the man behind the sculpted bodies of Emma stone, Irina Shayk and Alison Brie. Laron and Walsh underwent training every day for nine months to prepare for Captain Marvel. And the training was not the simple one. The routine included 215-pound of deadlifts, 400-pound hip thrusts and what not. She was also trained in martial arts and judo under the supervision of a stunt team. Initially, for the six months, she worked out for 90 minutes a day but later she increased the timings by three to four hours a day. She wanted her stunts to look real, her strength to look real. She was determined to get super strong for her role.

Pushed a 5000-pound Jeep for training

Do you know how many kilos are there in 5000 pounds? It is 2268 kgs. Can you believe this? She pushed it roughly for 60 seconds. It needs unbelievable strength for a woman. In order to match the strength of all the Avengers she needs to look stronger. The main aim of Larson was to perform most of the stunts herself and to minimize the use of special effects. She shared a video on Instagram pushing the 5000-pound jeep with the tank full of gas without any equipment. The whole time her trainer was filming the video and kept on motivating him.

Cat allergy

Larson is allergic to cats. And you must be thinking what’s a big deal. The big deal is that the movie character Carol Danvers owns a cat named Goose. This means that Larson had to work with a cat most of the time while shooting for the film. To avoid any trouble to Larson, the production played around with some scenes in which they created the illusion of Larson holding the cat. Some cats in the movies are computer generated, too.

She vomited a lot

We know that Carol is also a US Air Force pilot. So, in order to learn the work of a pilot, Larson spent time with real Air Force pilots. There she earned her own call sign. During her dogfight in the air, she flipped around that caused her to feel nauseous. And she vomited most of the times. But the real pilots helped her a lot with the flight and taught Larson the tricks on how to avoid nausea.
