Others indicated, through their comments, that they might have been duped
The same thing happened to me, but I was threatened because I refused to pay a bribe. After they get to know that I am a lawyer, they spoke to me kindly and advised me to walk around so that no one would believe I had not been expelled from the area.

1. You paid 2500 fine? When there is no such fine or section to fine a person without a valid reason or at least being at a public place.
2. You paid a fine to a personal mobile number? Why you did not confront them on this not being a official number of police or for a receipt?

Although the taking of bribes by police officers is a serious issue that jeopardizes the justice system and undermines public confidence in law enforcement organizations, it is critical to put in place effective measures to discourage such behavior and foster an environment of honesty and integrity.
