Why clear Veg and Non-Veg labels matter in India
Mixing up veg and non-veg labels can be a very sensitive issue in India, where food choices are deeply tied to culture, religion, and personal beliefs. Even a small error like calling a dish “Veg Chicken Handi” can create confusion, hurt sentiments, and lead to mistrust between customers, restaurants, and food delivery platforms like Zomato. Such mistakes may seem minor but can easily escalate into bigger controversies.
That’s why it is important for restaurants to carefully design their menus, for platforms like Zomato to strictly monitor listings, and for customers to remain alert while placing orders. Clear labeling and strict checks can prevent misunderstandings and ensure that people’s dietary preferences and beliefs are respected.
