Let me show you how we celebrated the Korean festival with my boyfriend’s family. As it was the Lunar New Year, today’s main menu was Mandu Tteokguk. These are dumpling rice cakes. I helped his family make Mandus.

After having the food, we did a ritual where the younger ones bowed to the eldest person in the family and received gifts. I, too, received a pack of sweets and chocolates and an envelope of money.
