Patna-based educator and YouTube sensation Khan Sir, known for his witty and unique teaching methods, recently found himself at the center of an unexpected controversy, not for his teaching but over his personal life. It started after a photo from his wedding reception went viral, showing his newly-wedded wife with her face covered in a traditional ghoonghat (veil).

Khan Sir’s wedding reception on June 2 was graced by prominent guests, including politician Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Physics Wallah CEO Alakh Pandey. In the event, Khan Sir’s wife, AS Khan’s face was covered with a red ghoonghat, concealing her identity.

Khan Sir finally breaks the silence about the ghoonghat controversy
In a recent interview on the ANI Podcast with Smita Prakash, Khan Sir clarified that the decision to wear the ghoonghat was entirely his wife’s own decision. He revealed,

“My wife decided to wear the veil at the reception”
He added,
“she said it was her childhood dream and that every girl dreams of becoming a bride with a veil.”
He explained that she wanted to stand out amid the well-dressed crowd and embody the complete bridal experience by covering her face with a ghoonghat.
He also shared that he initially expressed concern about potential backlash, to which his wife adamantly responded,
“No, it’s my childhood dream”
So, he respected her wish.

Khan Sir defended the choice, saying it wasn’t about enforcing traditional norms, but empowering his wife to express herself. He emphasized the veil served as a mark of distinction, underscoring her identity among guests

“No, we come from a village. And we cannot leave the village behind”
highlighting his grounded standpoint.
