Jaspreet Singh, a 10-year-old boy from Delhi, who runs a roll stall, recently went viral on social media. The social media not only catapulted him to stardom but also increased his daily earnings. Additionally, he gained the attention of many big names who come from different fields. From Mahindra company chairman Anand Mahindra to Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, Jaspreet’s video resonated with the majority of the audience.
How did Japreet Singh get so much popularity on social media?
Ten-year-old Jaspreet Singh of Delhi has been making ends meet by running a food cart in Tilak Nagar. He is doing this because he has neither a mother nor a father in his family. His mother abandoned them in February and the sudden death of his father from brain tuberculosis in April made him an eventual breadwinner of his family.
In his family, he also has one sister named Taranpreet Kaur. The children were going through the most difficult phase of his life and little Jaspreet was left to take care of the family on him alone.
However, after food blogger Sarabjeet Singh (@mrsingh_foodhunter) presented Jaspreet’s experience in a video, his life took a different turn. The video about his ordeal went viral on social media and had over 10.7 million views in a short period of time.

Not only this, but also prominent figures like actor Sonu Sood, actor Arjun Kapoor, and entrepreneur Anand Mahindra also reacted to the video. Additionally, along with many other people, they have come out to provide Jaspreet with chances and financial support.

Anand Mahindra and Arjun Kapoor offer support to Jaspreet
Actor Arjun Kapoor of Bollywood and businessman Anand Mahindra have now pledged to fund Jaspreet’s schooling. Upon sharing his video on X, formerly, known as Twitter, Anand Mahindra wrote,
“Courage, thy name is Jaspreet. But his education shouldn’t suffer. I believe, he’s in Tilak Nagar, Delhi. If anyone has access to his contact number please do share it. The Mahindra foundation team will explore how we can support his education.”

In his Instagram story, Arjun Kapoor wrote,
“With a smile on his face, he’s facing life ahead and all that will come with it…. I salute this 10-year-old for having the courage to stand up on his own two feet and take over his father’s work within 10 days of him passing away. I would love to help him out with his or his sister’s education; if anyone knows about his whereabouts, do let me know (sic).”
Sonu Sood expected to visit him soon
The young boy has been showered with affection from all directions. Eventually, actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood is also scheduled to visit him next week to talk about his future.
Punjabi actor Jai Randhawa also visited Jaspreet on May 8 and proposed to open a restaurant in Tilak Nagar just for him.

What does Jaspreet have to say about his journey?
PTI reported that Jaspreet Singh manages the food cart alongside his 19-year-old cousin, Gurmukh Singh. Speaking about what he is currently experiencing, Japreet said,
“Abhi unhone pucha hai ki agar khulwa dein toh (chala loge),” shares Jaspreet, adding, “Main waise cart manage kar leta hun. I go to school in the morning, then tuitions and later come to make rolls at the cart at 6pm. Veerji (cousin, Gurmukh) manages it till them, from 3pm onwards.”
Speaking about Sonu Sood, Jaspreet said,
“Sonu Sood logon ki mushkilein sunke door karte hain. Mujhe achha laga yeh sunke… Pata nahi tha ki aisa bhi hoga mere saath, woh mere paas ayenge.”
His cousin Gurmukh, who is responsible for handling Jaspreet’s social media accounts, said,
“Anand Mahindra has sponsored Jaspreet and his 14-year-old sister’s education. BJP leader Rajiv Babbar has also offered to sponsor my sister’s (Jaspreet’s cousin) education. We would like Arjun Kapoorji to support Jaspreet’s daily livelihood.”
