Blinkit Responds After Customer Complains Of Receiving Expired Bread With Fungus

A customer's allegation that Blinkit delivered expired, fungus-infested bread and initially refused a refund has sparked online debate.

The mode of purchasing daily necessities has seen a complete revolution in the last few years. It is no longer necessary to visit a nearby supermarket; everything can be purchased from the comfort of our homes with just a few taps on a phone. Quick delivery services, such as those offered by Blinkit and Flipkart, which promise to deliver within 10 to 30 minutes, have become one of the most significant advancements in e-commerce today.

Nevertheless, the speedy development of this industry has raised several concerns, especially regarding the delivery partner welfare, sustainability, viability, and product quality. Quality management becomes an important factor while dealing with high volumes of perishables. For instance, recently, a complainant pointed out that an instant commerce site named Blinkit delivered expired bread with fungus. Not only this, but the company also denied a refund request. The company later responded to the complaint. However, the complaint had gone viral on social media by that time.
