The emergence of delivery apps has revolutionized the way Indians in cities consume food, shop, and even live. Apps such as Swiggy and Zomato have made smartphones a virtual marketplace where users can access anything and everything on their doorstep. What started as a mere convenience has now become an integral part of life in cities where time is scarce and accessibility matters.
However, in this rush for growth and expansion, several crises have also become apparent in this industry. One of the biggest issues in this regard is quality control. As intermediary agencies between consumers and brands/restaurants, they cannot be held responsible in case of a problem. The recent case of a consumer finding a piece of glass in a dark chocolate product delivered through Swiggy is a prime example of this. Now, the brand has reacted to the whole incident.

Swiggy’s Noice Dark Chocolate is under fire after a customer found a fragment of glass in it
A tweet by Vineeth, aka DealsDhamaka, is going viral. Vineeth tweeted the complaint, which is originally from a person named Prasanna Raj.
All this happened when Prasanna ordered Noice dark chocolate from Swiggy Instamart. He gave the chocolate to his child to eat, but after eating the chocolate for some time, the child returned it, saying that it had some strange tightness in it. When he looked carefully, he found that there was a piece of glass in his chocolate.
While tweeting about this incident, Vineeth also posted some pictures of the chocolate in his post, in which a piece of glass was clearly visible inside the chocolate. He described this incident as extremely concerning and unacceptable in his post. In his post, Vineeth wrote,
Shocking Incident!! This is a dark chocolate from NOICE. Do you notice anything unusual? Look closely… a piece of glass. One of my followers @Pras_SwiftMojo ordered this dark chocolate from Instamart (Swiggy’s brand NOICE). While he was eating it, he broke a piece to give to his child. The child immediately returned it, saying something had pricked him. To his absolute shock, there was a piece of glass embedded inside the chocolate. This is extremely concerning and unacceptable; food safety should never be compromised. Shameful
Later, Vineet wrote another tweet in which he tagged Swiggy and wrote that Prasanna has already spoken to them, and it seems that they are not interested in resolving this problem.

This could result fatal. Glass is very deadly. It can cause lifelong problem when pierced into flesh. Don’t play with people’s lives @instamart_it both delivery partners and consumers.
