Early morning today, actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu tied the knot with director Raj Nidimoru. The exclusive wedding ceremony was held privately at Sadhguru’s Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore, where only the close ones of the bride and groom were in attendance. Soon after the news struck town, congratulations and best wishes started pouring in for the newly married couple. Dating speculations began early this year when Samantha shared pictures from the World Pickleball League on Instagram.
While many people think that this could put the full stop on gossip related to her personal life, contrarily, amid this, her personal life, especially her former marriage to Naga Chaitanya, has, however, become a trending topic of discussion. Netizens can’t stop themselves from talking about them, as they were once idealized as the power couple. Among them, one rumor has been making rounds on social media, which says that the reason behind Samantha and Chaitanya’s split is Samantha’s bold scenes and item numbers.

Are Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s bold scenes a reason behind her divorce from Naga Chaitanya?
Following Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya’s breakup, a number of rumors surfaced regarding the reasons behind their split, one of which connected Samantha’s post-marriage on-screen decisions. According to rumors, Samantha’s increasingly bold roles, including item numbers and personal moments, apparently did not sit well with some members of the Akkineni family. A particular instance typically highlighted in these rumors is her s*x scene in The Family Man 2, which was dubbed by online discussion as the “last straw.”
Both Naga Chaitanya and his father, Nagarjuna Akkineni, reportedly felt uneasy with Samantha’s bold performances after marriage.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu was asked not to do the item song, Oo Antava
However, this is not the first time that Samantha’s provocative scenes didn’t sit well with the world. Although Oo Antava, the item song by Samantha Ruth Prabhu from Pushpa: The Rise, went on to become a cultural phenomenon, the path to that legendary performance wasn’t quite easy. In an interview with MissMalini Entertainment, she confessed that she was, in fact, cautioned against performing the song. Samantha says,
While I was offered Oo Antava, I was in the middle of all of the separation. The announcement came and every friend of mine every well-wisher, and my family were like, ‘You sit at home; you will not do an item song now just after you announced a separation and you will say no to this.’
She claims that those in her immediate vicinity cautioned her that an established female lead doing an item number could damage her reputation and stereotype her professional choices. However, Samantha was sure in her mind that she would do the item number since it is her job, and she does not need to hide anything. In the same conversation, Samantha gave her viewpoint and disclosed why she did the item song despite people warning her about it. She says,

So it’s like, okay, I’m doing it because I just thought, why should I hide? I mean, I did not do anything wrong. Why should I hide? I was not going to go into hiding and wait for all of the trolling and abuse to go away and then slowly creep back in like someone who had committed a crime. I was not going to do that. I gave my marriage 100; it did not work out, but I was not going to beat myself up and feel guilty for something that I didn’t do.
