When Madhuri Dixit Was Kicked Out Of Big B’s Movie For Not Removing Her Blouse

If you are a big Bollywood buff, then you must know already that Amitabh Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit have never starred opposite each other in any film. Although fans have been dying to see the duo together onscreen, things never worked out in favour of their expectations. But very few know that the filmmaker Tinnu Anand once tried to get them together for a film. The director, Tinnu Anand, is best known for directing iconic films of Big B, like Shahenshaah, Kaalia, Major Saab, and Main Azaad Hoon. He tried to rope in Madhuri to share the screen with Amitabh Bachchan in the movie Shanakht.

Madhuri was asked to remove her blouse for a scene in the movie Shanakht

During a conversation with Radio Nasha, Tinnu came forward with the whole sequence and his talks with Madhuri before signing her for the film.

Tinnu said,

“I had narrated the entire sequence to Madhuri and I told her that you have to remove your blouse and for the first time, we should see you in your bra”

Anand further added that he didn’t want to hide anything and shared with honesty what happened.

He said,

“I am not going to hide anything behind a haystack or anything. Because you are offering yourself to help a man who is trying to help you. So it is a very important situation and I want to shoot it on the first day. She said okay.”

Tinnu gave Madhuri full freedom to design her bra for the scene

Since Madhuri was skeptical about the scene while singing, Anand gave her complete freedom to decide the design of her bra for the scene as per her comfort.

He told Radio Nasha,

“You don’t have to wear a bra bra but you can design your own bra, I don’t mind. But it has to be a bra because you are opening your blouse, offering yourself.”

Since the particular scene was supposed to be shot first, everyone was ready to roll on the set except Madhuri, who didn’t leave her vanity for 45 minutes. After a few minutes, Tinnu went to check on her and Madhuri informed him that she won’t do the scene.

Madhuri said,

‘Tinnu, I don’t want to do this particular scene.’

To which Tinnu replied,

I’m sorry, you have to do this scene.

Even after that when Madhuri refused to do the scene, Tinnu said,

‘Okay, pack up, say goodbye to the film. I’ll cancel my shoot.’

Amitabh tried his best to sort things

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan tried to mediate the heated conversation and told Tinnu,

‘Let it be, why are you arguing with her? If she has an objection…’

To which Tinnu’s reply was,

‘If she had to object, she should have done it earlier, before signing the film’

Soon, Tinnu started looking for Madhuri’s replacement in the film, but sadly just after 5 days from the shoot, the movie was shelved.
