10 Superhit Bollywood Movie Offers Rejected By Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit has been the beautiful Bollywood persona for forever now. But there are films which were offered to her but she initially had to rejected them. Either due to her very busy schedule or sometimes simply because she didn’t want to.

Below is the list of movies rejected by dhak dhak girl, Madhuri Dixit:

1. Aaina (1993) – Juhi Chawla

The role played by Juhi Chawla was initially pitched and offered to Madhuri Dixit. This film was mostly based on making people understand that beauty is temporary and arrogant because beauty can backfire in the worst possible ways.

Juhi played the role of a girl named Reema, who was a very shy and subtle kind of nerd during the beginning of the film, but by the end of it, she turns into a gorgeous and beautiful woman.

2. Silence: The Musical (1996) – Manisha Koirala

One of the best directed and cinematographed films Bollywood has ever made. Though it is very underrated and didn’t receive the exposure it deserved. Sanjay Leela Bhansali initially offered the main role to Madhuri Dixit first, because of her very busy schedule she turned the offer down. Later she worked in the film Devdas which was also by Bhansali.

3. Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999) – Tabu

In this film, Tabu’s role was first offered to Madhuri. The reason Madhuri rejected the film was that she didn’t film the script very impressive. For her the script was very bland and was quite impactful, henceforth it got a big no from Dixit.

4. Darr (1993) – Juhi Chawla

This film was one of the reasons SRK’s career took a huge turn. The plot and storyline are somewhat well known to people. Madhuri was offered the role which Juhi Chawla played. But she declined the offer because of her busy schedule.

5. 1942: A Love Story (1994) – Manisha Koirala

Yet another role was played by Manisha Koirala cause Madhuri rejected it. This film was the hub of some iconic songs like Ek ladki Ko Dekha to Aisa Laga.

Though it was highly anticipated by the people to see Madhuri and Anil’s on-screen romance, Madhuri turned down the role.

6. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) – Aishwarya Rai

While some fans thank god that Madhuri rejected the role. Since it is partially unimaginable for people to see Madhuri instead of Aishwarya Rai playing the role. Though it was a beautiful role and Madhuri would’ve nailed it! But she denied and it worked out very well career-wise for Aishwarya.

7. Sapnay (1997) – Kajol

Legends say people still didn’t get over Kajol’s beauty from the song Phoolon ke bhavre Jo haule haule gaaye! And it is indeed very true. It was hit in the box office and did very well having hit actors like Prabhu Deva, Arvind Swamy playing the roles.

A musical love story starring prominent actors like Prabhu Deva, Arvind Swamy and Kajol in the lead roles, this film was highly appreciated by the audiences and became one of the prominent works in the Bollywood industry. While we still drool over the acting and songs of the film, it was also highly appreciated for its filmography. Being the role first offered to the actress Madhuri Dixit, she turned down the role due to some unknown reasons.

8. Chandni (1989) – Juhi Chawla

Juhi’s role was offered to Madhuri first. But she rejected it (duh) and it initially went on to Juhi. The film was a huge hit in the box office which bagged a huge amount of clout since it had legitimate stars featured.

9. Damini (1993) – Meenakshi Seshadri

Remember the last time you cracked the “2.5 kilo ka haath” joke? Yes, this dialogue is from the film Damini. And Madhuri was offered to play the role which was played by Meenakshi Seshadri. Madhuri had to reject the role because of the due date issues. Though this film was a very big thing for Meenakshi’s career in the industry.

10. Baazigar (1993) – Shilpa Shetty

Back then Baazigar was a very ‘big thing’ since Kajol was playing the lead role. It could’ve easily been a huge hit (not that it did not) having Madhuri as a second role to it. Madhuri was offered the role of Shilpa Shetty. But the reason behind her rejecting the offer was basically because she did not want to play the supporting role.
