Meet Aesha Mukerji, Shikhar’s wife
The lady was born in India and soon moved to Australia. Her father is from India and mother is of English descent. She is a sports fanatic and has learned kickboxing as well. She speaks Bengali and English fluently. Aesha loves to cook Indian food. She got married to an Australian businessman but later got divorced. She has two daughters, Rhea and Aliyah from her first marriage.

It all started with a friend request
You can find love on social media as well just like Shikhar found. He found out that Harbhajan Singh is a mutual friend of him and Aesha. Shikhar saw her profile and was mesmerised by her looks. He sent her a friend request and started talking to her. They became good friends and romance started brewing between them. The couple got engaged in 2009 but Shikhar wanted to take some time before the wedding vows as he wanted to become the successful cricketer of the Indian cricket team. Finally, they tied the knot in 2012.
Their journey
There is no denying the fact that society is very judgemental. Aesha had two kids from her first marriage and thus, when she took wedding vows with Shikhar, many eyebrows were raised. However, Shikhar’s mother supported them. Aesha wanted Shikhar to have cordial relations with her kids.
The marriage
Shikhar and Aesha had a Sikh wedding. Many cricketers attended the ceremony including Virat Kohli, who was seen dancing his heart out in the baraat.
They looked like the match made in heaven.

In 2014, they became proud parents of a baby boy and named him Zoravar Dhawan.
Despite being busy and travelling between Melbourne and India, Aesha is often seen supporting her husband during the match.
Aesha is Shikhar’s strength and his career has indeed improved after marriage. Talking about if the cricketer has changed after marriage, the lady said,
“For me, he’s always been the same. A caring guy, who nurses dreams to make it big in life. Not that his fortunes have changed post marriage; he’s worked hard to achieve them. That’s so sweet of him. But there’s cricket also, which he’s equally passionate about. He’s a responsible guy who knows the art of balancing. I am so happy to be his wife. What amazes me the most is his problem-solving abilities. Also, when he’s not playing, he is a domesticated man who loves helping his wife and kids in their tasks.”
The wonderful couple is raising three kids.
