Ratan Tata is one of the most popular and admired industrialists in the country. He is one of those business tycoons who is not corrupted with fame but rather inbuilt with success. He was also the chairman of the Tata Group from 1990 to 2012, serving also as interim chairman from October 2016 through February 2017. There is no single person in India who is not aware of this 85-year-old being. Apart from possessing remarkable business foresight, he is also a philanthropist and humanitarian.
Ratan Tata died at the age of 86 on 9th October in a Mumbai hospital where he was admitted in a critical condition. After his sudden demise, everyone is curious about who in the Tata family will inherit his empire as Ratan Tata never got married and has no kids.

According to several reports, Ratan Tata shares a lovely bond with his half-brother, Noel Tata. Thus, there are speculations that Noel Tata’s children, Neville Tata, Maya Tata, and Leah Tata, may become his heirs.
Ratan Tata is the son of Naval Tata and Soonoo Tata. The couple together also adopted a baby boy, Jimmy. But Naval Tata and Soonoo got divorced in the mid-1940s and got married to a Switzerland-origin woman named Simone in 1955.
Naval Tata and Simone welcomed a son, Noel Tata, who is Ratan Tata’s half-brother. 1. Jimmy Naval Tata
We are sure that while Ratan Tata is a household name when it comes to successful Indian businessmen, Jimmy Naval Tata might not buzz you a ringbell. Jimmy is actually the younger brother of Ratan Tata who has lived and worked in his elder brother’s shadow.
Apart from being a shareholder in Tata Sons and several other Tata companies, Jimmy is also a trustee of Sir Ratan Tata Trust. Talking about his personal life, Jimmy is a bachelor, who lives in a two-BHK apartment in Colaba, Mumbai. He is a reserved person who prefers to stay and work in the shadow.
2. Simone Tata
Born and brought up in Geneva, Switzerland, Simone Naval Tata is an Indian Businesswoman belonging to the Tata family. In 1953 she visited India as a tourist, and it was this trip that made her meet Mr. Tata. She permanently shifted to India in 1955 after getting married to Naval Tata.
Simone Tata joined the Board of Lakme Ltd in 1961 and was appointed as the Managing Director in 1964. Simone took over as Chairman of the Board in 1982 and founded Trent. She served as its Non-Executive Chairman until October 2006. What is important to note is that she is the stepmother of Ratan Tata and the mother of Noel Tata.
3. Noel Naval Tata
If the name Noel Naval Tata is mentioned how can we go without talking about him? He is the Chairman of Tata International Limited. Before joining Tata International, he worked with Trent Limited as its Managing Director.
It was in 2014 that he was appointed as the Chairman of Trent Limited. Since then up till now he has continued to serve in this position. He is an Indian businessman with Irish citizenship. He is a half-brother to both Ratan and Jimmy from their father’s side.

4. Jimmy Minocher Tata
Jimmy Minocher Tata is a son of Minocher Tata. He did his graduation from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies. Furthermore, he is on the board of HDB Financial Services Ltd. and the Chief Credit Officer at HDFC Bank Ltd.
5. Neville Tata
Neville Tata is the son of Noel Tata and Aloo Mistry. He married Manasi Kirloskar, director of Kirloskar Technologies. He works with Trent – one of the leading players in the branded retail industry in the India retail chain. His father serves as the chairman of Trent, an organization that was founded by his grandmother.
Neville is the head of a hypermarket unit of Trent Limited, Star Bazaar. Neville plays a major role in the fashion brand, Zudio’s success. In such a short period, Neville has succeeded in making Zudio a big name in India’s fashion industry.
6. Leah Tata
Leah Tata is the eldest daughter of Noel Naval Tata, the chairman of Trent. According to the Economic Times, Leah is working with Indian Hotels Company, the operator of the Taj group of hotels. By doing so, she is working their way up in group companies.
Leah completed her higher education at Spain’s IE Business School. She keeps her personal life under wraps, so it is not known whether Leah is married or still single, like her late uncle, Ratan Tata.
7. Maya Tata
Maya Tata is the youngest of Noel Tata’s three children and is an alumnus of the UK’s Bayes Business School and the University of Warwick. There is not much information available about her but apparently, she is being trained under the guidance of Ratan Tata for future leadership. She is likely to move into Tata Digital. According to some reports, Maya Tata will be the one who can be the heiress of Ratan Tata’s empire.
Maya is on the board of the Tata Medical Centre Trust. She started with Tata Opportunities Fund and then joined Tata Digital. She played a major role in launching the Tata Neu App.
