Prabhu Deva started dating Tamil actress, Nayanthara

Dating rumours are not new to the film industry. Thus, it didn’t come as a big shock when Prabhu Deva was linked to Nayanthara, whom he directed in Tamil film, Villu. However, both the stars never accepted being in love. In September 2010, the dancer himself accepted that he considers Nayanthara very special and would love to marry her. It was said they were dating for almost two years. Naturally, the news reached Prabhu Deva’s wife, Latha.

Prabhu’s divorce with first wife Latha

He was married to Latha when he publicly professed his love for Nayanthara. Speculations were rife that after accepting his feelings for the actress, he approached his wife for the divorce. This left Latha furious, who filed a petition at a court accusing her husband for not providing financial help to the family because of his extra-marital affair. Things became murkier when she filed another petition at a Chennai court asking to restrict Prabhu from tying the knot with Nayanthara and even threatened hunger strikes. Many women organisations came in her support and burned Nayanthara’s effigies. On July 2, 2010, Prabhu and Latha finally ended their 16 years long marriage. Latha got the custody of the sons and Prabhu got visiting rights.

Prabhu and Nayanthara started living together but didn’t have a long-lasting relationship

After Prabhu’s divorce, he entered into the live-in relationship with the actress. The latter had quit movies by that time and was dependent on him for her lavish expenses. Both of them lived in Mumbai. However, she was not happy with Prabhu visiting his kids. Some say that the latter used to lie to her in order to avoid fights. According to the actress, things were little different. Rumours had it that Prabhu promised to marry Nayanthara but always backed off at the last moment. This left her upset and in 2012, both the stars announced their break-up.

Once, she revealed to a leading daily that break-up is the most difficult phase but she wants to move on and live her life. Times of India quoted her saying,

“That’s too personal to get into’a break-up for anyone is the most difficult phase in their life. When you have to go away from someone you love or vice-versa, whatever the reason, it really shatters your life. But how you deal with it is important. I can’t get into how I dealt with it but I have to if I want to move on and live my life.”

They say marriage is just like entering a temple. People should have pure heart and intention before giving life-long commitment to anyone. Unfortunately, only some can live up to expectations of their partner and similar thing happened with Prabhu. Till now, Prabhu is single. His romantic life was no less than a roller coaster ride. However, we hope that he soon finds the love of his life and experience that magic about which he often talks through his films.
