A Look At MS Dhoni And Sakshi’s Magical Love Story And Their Marriage

They say matches are made in heaven and there are some couples who are proving it right. Yes, we are talking about Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his wife Sakshi Dhoni. Captain cool led the team and won World Cup making us proud but got clean bowled by this gorgeous lady. Childhood friends

Dhoni and Sakshi knew each other from the childhood as their fathers worked in the same company. They went to the same school but there was nothing between them. Later, Sakshi’s family shifted to Dehradun. After she went, both of them lost contact as God had some different plans for them.

Love always finds its way

Both of them met almost after a decade in Kolkata. At that time, Indian cricket team was in the city for the match. Dhoni met Sakshi at the Taj Bengal, where the team was staying and Sakshi was doing her internship. Mahi’s manager, Yudhajit Dutta introduced him to the lady as both of them were good friends. Interestingly, it was her last day of internship. It seems like Dhoni’s felt that spark as after Sakshi left, he took her number from the manager and texted her. Rest, they say is history.

When Sakshi got a text from Dhoni, she thought that it was a prank. Later, she got convinced that it was the heartthrob of the nation texting her. Mahi had to make many efforts in order to be friends with her. Well, it is definitely not easy to win a girl’s hearts.
Dhoni finally managed to make Sakshi fall for him and both of them started dating in March 2008. Little things count in relationships and he knew it very well. When Sakshi attended his birthday party, he took out an hour and dropped her home in order to spend some quality time with her.

Dhoni and Sakshi marriage

Dhoni and Sakshi got engaged in aquite ceremony in Dehradun on the 3rd of July, 2010. The ceremony took place in the presence of the relatives from both sides of the families. Media was not invited to keep it a private affair.

Their wedding news came as a big surprise for everyone. All the details were kept under wraps. The couple took wedding vows on July 4, 2010, in a farmhouse just off of Dehradun.. Dhoni’s friends from cricket and entertainment world became its part. From Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra to John Abraham and Farah Khan, many celebs were seen as baaratis.

On her big day, Sakshi wore a red and green Sabyasachi lehenga. Both the stars exchanged rings on July 3, 2010 at Hotel Competant in Dehradun and the marriage took place the next day at Vishranti Resort.

Role of Robin Uthappa

Sakshi Dhoni recently celebrated her 30th birthday. She thanked many for making her day special, but she had some special message for Robin Uthappa. The Message reads,

“Thanks to this man here Mahi n i r together ❤️!!! It was great meeting u Robbie and Sheethal … Thank u guys for coming and lot’s of cuddles to the lil one ! And Sheethal you looking HoT as ever! 😘 and just to clear out to people mahi n r not childhood friends n first time i stepped into Ranchi was after marriage !”

Sakshi ranks third in his life

Sakshi has always tried to stay away from paparazzi. Dhoni likes this about her as he wants to focus on his career. It is also said that Dhoni’s performance as a player got better post his marriage to Sakshi. According to him, Sakshi will rank third in his life. Once he said,

“I love my country. I tell my wife she is only the third most important thing after my country and my parents, in that order. The point is that while I am an Indian cricketer I will devote myself to that cause. Cricket is not everything, not by any means, but it is a large part of who I am. Therefore, I want to play in all formats of the game and to play as much as possible because before long it will be over. Then I’ll focus more on the Army!”

He further added,

“Sakshi provides the spark I might sometimes need. Jokes aside, she is the person to whom I have a reference. She is both loving and inspirational. Sometimes she travels with me, but cricket is easier without having to ensure her safe passage. One day, we will see the sights together and she says that then, can she please move to number two on the list of my priorities! But for the moment I am here to play cricket. I have been given this honour to play for my country so I want to see it through.”

Their first daughter Ziva

Dhoni and Sakshi became proud parents to a baby girl in 2015 and named her Ziva. Today, along with Mahi’s wife, his little angel is also seen cheering for him during matches. The social media is flooded with her pictures and she is no less than a celebrity.

From supporting his wife to tying lace of her footwear, Dhoni has proved that he is the coolest husband.

Sakshi has also inked Dhoni’s nick name, Mahi, in Devanagari script below her left ear.
