Love Story Of Amrita Rao And RJ Anmol Is As Beautiful As The Couple

After making her Bollywood debut in 2002 with Ab ke Baras, actress Amrita Arora went on to star in many successful films. It is very hard to forget the magic that she spelled as ‘sharmili and sanskari’ Poonam in Vivah. She stole many hearts with her gorgeous looks but do you know about the man who made this pretty lady fall head over heels in love with him? Yes, we are talking about her husband RJ Anmol. Before tying the knot, the couple dated for almost seven years but never talked about it in public. In fact, their wedding was also a private affair and came as a big shock to many.

The first meeting

In 2009, Amrita met RJ Anmol for an interview regarding her film. There was a spark between them that turned into love after a few meetings. While talking about her meeting, the actress revealed to a leading daily,

“I am a huge retro fan, and I had proposed that Anmol and I do a Kishore Kumar show together. That’s when we first met and soon, we realised that we had a common love for old songs. It wasn’t love at first sight for us, but that evening, the first chord was struck. Gradually, we became friends. His positive aura attracted me, but I didn’t realise it for a very long time. We shared a rare comfort with each other. Both of us loved exploring the old-world charm of Mumbai, going on drives and walking in the quaint bylanes near Flora Fountain.”

Amrita and Anmol’s love story was sweet and simple. They made us believe in the purity of a relationship. It is not always necessary to make things public unless and until you are sure about it. The actress said,

“We have always been private about our personal life. This relationship was sacred to the both of us from the moment it began. Making your relationship public can help you be in the constant news, but we wanted only our work to do the talking.”

While promoting one of her films, the actress revealed how Anmol proposed to her. She stated that he confessed his feelings near Juhu beach and later introduced to his mother. Talking to BT, Amrita said,

“He first texted me, saying that I shouldn’t miss the next track on his show. It was my favourite song — Gum hai kisike pyaar mein (Rampur Ka Lakshman) — following which he proposed. I was shocked and when I called him back, we both laughed over it. But deep down, he had expressed what he felt, in the most bold and beautiful manner. In my head, even at that time, he was still my friend who I loved hanging out with. Eventually, he proposed to me again, near Juhu beach. This time, he said, ‘I think we must give this a chance, maybe you are not recognising things.’ I told him, ‘This is the first time I getting into any relationship and it will be serious from this point onwards.’ We’ve never looked back after that. He’s the first and the only man I committed to in a relationship. I had always wished for it to be this way, because I was not the kind of person who would try and test relationships with different people. For me, it was always going to be one relationship for eternity. We spent a lot of time getting to know each other and our families. Gradually, it all came together. My parents loved him in the first 10 minutes of meeting him. His mother once told me, ‘Beta, when we saw Vivah, I had told Anmol, bahu ho to aisi ho. I had never thought ki bahu wohi hogi.’ And then, about six years later, we got married.”

Amrita and Anmol’s marriage

Both the stars took nuptial vows on May 15, 2016 in the presence of close friends and family members. It was a private affair and thus when the announcement was made, people were pleasantly shocked. Sharing her wedding news, Amrita wrote,

“It’s been seven years of a blissful relationship and I’m the luckiest to find a soul mate in my life partner. We had a very small (wedding) ceremony with our immediate family members only.”

Amrita and Anmol continue to say away from paparazzi. However, there is no denying the fact that they are made for each other and made us believe in the concept of ‘happily ever after’.

On the professional front, Amrita was last seen in Thackeray with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The movie was the biopic on Balasaheb Thackeray in which Amrita played the role of his wife Mina Tai.
