He portrayed characters like Jeetu, Munna Jazbaati, Gittu, and Kejriwal (a parody of Indian politician and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal) in the Indian YouTube comedy sketch channel, The Viral Fever. The actor has also acted in Kota Factory, Shabh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, and Amazon Prime’s Panchayat, for which he won the Filmfare OTT award for “Best Actor Comedy Series (Male)”.

7. Jitendra Kumar’s acting journey

He was considered to deliver Al Pacino’s lines from The Scent of A Women (1992) in college. He somehow performed the act though Kumar had a little problem with English, his performance impressed his seniors a lot. Jitendra Kumar’s college seniors offered him to be a part of the Hindi drama society which worked wonders for him.

After his seniors referred him to the Hindi drama society, he met Biswapati Sarkar, who took him to TVF and there was no looking back.

8. Jitendra is extremely image-conscious and fashion-conscious since his college days

Biswapati Sarkar, the creative director of The Viral Fever revealed once revealed in an interview with Zoom that he is still the same. They named him the “Kunwar Sa” (Prince) of The Viral Fever.

9. His first debut in web series was the character of Prateek in Permanent Roommates

Contrary to his film career, web series had always been his thing. It started with his 2014 debut in the character of Prateek in Permanent Roommates. This was followed by Jeetu in TVF Pitchers in 2015. 2017 has been a busy year for him as he featured himself in three web series, namely TVF Bachelors Season 2, Bisht, Please!, and F.A.T.H.E.R.S.

The following year, he did Mr. and Mrs. Season 1. 2019 has been by far the busiest year in his life where he featured in five web series in a row.

10. A video starring Kumar was released in 2013 titled Munna Jazbaati: The Q-tiya intern, which went viral instantly and reached 3 million views.

There have since been several TVF videos with him playing various characters. We have had series that have crossed multiple million views, like TVF’s Bachelor, Kota Factory as well as Tech Conversations With Dad.

The web series he featured in called TVF Pitchers saw him playing Jitendra Maheshwari, a frustrated employee. He also played Gittu, a confused groom in Permanent Roommates.

Jitendra has been lately doing some films after his acting prowess got recognized. Although his film debut was with Shuruaat Ka Interval in 2014, where he played the character of Laxman, his silver screen presence had been absent for a while from back then. It was in recent times that he started regularly featuring in films since 2019.

He played the character of Srijoy Roy in Gone Kesh (2019). In 2020, he had done two films, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Chaman Bahaar. He is also a part of the project Jaadugar, where his character’s name is Magic Meenu.

The most loved character is Jeetu Bhaiya, a legendary physics teacher in the city of Kota in the web series Kota Factory.

On Amazon Prime, he received immense love for the web series Panchayat

He portrays Abhishek Tripathi, the urban secretary in an Uttar Pradesh Panchayat office. Amidst his daily struggles, he attempts to get away from all of this by trying the Common Admission Test which will enable him to get into the Indian Institutes of Management while trying to cope with village life. Both critics and viewers have praised the series produced by TVF.
