The Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation has brought a change to the city. It was built under the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) to run between Mansarovar and Chandpole stations. Day by day it is providing hassle-free transportation to Jaipur people. Now, it also operates from Chandpole to Badi Chaupar, Phase 1-B, which began operation on 23 September 2020.

1. When was it created?

The JMRC was created on 1 January, 2010 and the physical construction was started on 24th Feb 2011. The serving managing director was Nihal Chand Goel.

2. Flagging

Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Gehlot has flagged this metro on 18th September 2013.

The approximate expense of Jaipur Metro is INR 2023 Cr.

The speediest construction of the Jaipur metro has taken only 4 years and a quarter.

5. Opening of the first line

Rajasthan’s C.M. Vasundhara Raje opened the first line of the Jaipur metro for the public on 3 June 2015.

It was opened in two phases, Phase I is a pink line, and Phase II is an orange line that is currently under construction. Phase 1-A and Phase 1-B have been completed.
