12 Bollywood Couples Who Changed Their Reel Love To Real Love

Bollywood movies are the real definition of a romantic movie – with all the beautiful vistas to melodious love songs, and the love story that is felt throughout the movie. While there have been some iconic duos in the history of Bollywood, a few of them actually fell in love with their co-actors.

Here is the list of our favorite celebrities who fell in love with each other while working on the sets:

1. Kajol and Ajay Devgn

Meeting on the sets of Hulchul (1995), Kajol was on the right steps toward being in love. But Ajay stated in an interview that he “Disliked Kajol and wasn’t even keen to meet her anymore!”.  But Before they tied the knot in 1999, Kajol admitted that her father didn’t speak to her for months. Yet the pair is happy now, they recently worked on a movie together, Tanhaji, The Unsung Hero. The pair has one son, Yug Devgn, and one daughter, Nyasa Devgn.

2. Amitabh Bachchan & Jaya Bachchan

Meeting each other at the Pune film institute in 1970, Amitabh and Jaya effloresced their love for each other when they premiered in Guddi, a film by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Their bond of love grew stronger when they were on the sets of “Ek Nazar”. On June 3rd, 1973   they got married and left for London. Some famous movies of Amitabh and Jaya are Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Silsila, Chupke Chupke, and Abhimaan.

3. Genelia D’Souza & Riteish Deshmukh

From Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003, Ritesh and Genelia were madly in love with each other. After their debut, they became best friends, and after being in a relationship for 9 years, Genelia and Ritesh finally got married on February 3, 2012. The couple has two sons Rahyl and Riaan. Some famous movies by them are Tere Naal Love Ho gaya, Masti, and Lai Bhaari.

4. Twinkle Khanna & Akshay Kumar

They met and fell in love in 1999 in the course of the making of International Khiladi. Akshay took up the assignment. Ironically, in the movie Twinkle kept chasing Akshay while in fact, in real life it was the other way around. Twinkle was not that into acting but Akshay loves it. She retired from acting after their marriage. They are mother and father to a son named Aarav and a daughter named Nitara. They Got married on January 17, 2001.

5. Deepika Padukone & Ranveer Singh

From the song Aang Laga de in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela in 2013. Their love story took a huge leap. They were so in love that during the shoot of a kissing scene in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela the pair didn’t stop even after the director said cut.

After being together for almost 6 years, the pair decided to finally tie the knot in 2018 at Lake Como on November 14. Ranveer and Deepika featured in popular Bollywood movies like Padmaavat, and Bajirao Mastani.

6. Bipasha Basu & Karan Singh Grover

After struggling with their previous long-distance relationships, the pair met each other at the sets of Alone, it was love at first sight! And then on 30th April 2016, the on-screen couple finally decided to be real-life couples and tied the knot. The couple is expecting their first child.

7. Malaika Arora & Arbaaz Khan

During the shoot of a ‘commercial’, Arbaz and Malaika first met each other and from then their love story was like ‘A Hot Coffee’ itself. The pair started dating and decided to get married on 12th December 1998. But, unfortunately, things didn’t work out later, the duo broke up in 2017.

8. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Abhishek Bachchan

Aish was in alleged affairs with Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi. In the movie Guru, directed by Mani Ratnam. The pair fell in love in the movie set itself. Their famous movies are Umrao Jaan and Dhoom 2. The duo got married on 30 April 2007. They have a beautiful daughter named Aaradhya.

9. Kareena Kapoor Khan & Saif Ali Khan

After Bebo ended it up with Shahid, she met Saif on the sets of Tashan. On the sets of the movie, they connected and started dating. After dating for a few years, they finally decided to tie the knot on 16 October 2012, they have two sons named Taimur and Jeh.

10. Soha Ali Khan & Kunal Khemu

After working in movies like 99 and Go Goa Gone. The pair fell in love while working in Dhoondte Reh Jaoge, the couple got engaged in 2014 in Paris and finally tied the knot on 25 January 2015 after dating for almost a year! They have one daughter Inaaya Naumi Khemu.

11. Dharmendra & Hema Malini

The couple first met on the sets of Tum Haseen main jawan, but during that time Dharmendra was already married to Prakash Kaur and was a father to 2 sons, Sunny and Bobby. But that did not stop him from falling in love with Hema. Their super hit film is Sholay. They finally got married on May 2nd, 1980.

12. Alia Bhatt & Ranbir Kapoor

One of the most talked about couples in the Bollywood industry is Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. They tied the knot in an intimate wedding. Alia marrying her crush and poster boy is a dream come true! The couple is expecting their first baby and is busy promoting their movie, Brahmastra.
