Anand Mahindra Thar Bangalore flood

A country’s road system is crucial to economic growth, including industrialization and agricultural development, especially in emerging nations like India. That is why a lot of nations spend a lot of money on their road systems. India has around 5472150 km of road network, which facilitates drivers to go from place to place by road.

However, the attention paid to road upkeep falls short of what is necessary. As a result, India experiences a problem with pavement structural degradation brought on by water infiltration every monsoon.

A similar thing is going on in many cities in India right now, and Bangalore is one of the most affected cities. A few days of rain suddenly altered everything, exposing Bangalore’s deteriorating infrastructure and erasing the authorities’ exaggerated promises.

Although the northeast monsoon is known to be a blessing for Bangalore, it continues to be a problem for the city’s roadways. The serviceability, ride quality, and safety of the road are all significantly impacted by road deterioration.

Motorboats came screaming in to rescue individuals from their own houses as the roads vanished beneath the murky floodwater. In Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka and India’s IT hub, individuals were observed swimming in their living rooms, and fish were sighted on roadways.

Their high-end vehicles, including Bentleys, Range Rovers, and BMWs, were left behind, partially drowned. Social media was also bombarded with ominous images of floods. However, even in this disastrous scenario, some people are taking risks without thinking twice about their lives.

There are many videos that are going viral on social media platforms in which people are risking their lives to go outside in this kind of monstrous flood. One such video went viral just a few days ago and has attracted many people’s attention.

In the viral video, Mahindra Thar can be seen swimming in the water near Bellandur Lake without incident. Have a look at the video below:

Although Mahindra Thar appeared to be capable of driving through a flooded road in Bengaluru with ease in the video, many people still criticise them for putting their lives in danger.

Anand Mahindra, the chairman of the company that manufactures the Mahindra Thar, also responded to the video, specifically appealing to drivers.

Anand Mahindra made a special appeal to drivers

Even though it is always gratifying for producers to watch customers put their faith in their goods, it is equally important to be cautious.

Anand Mahindra highlights this in a recent tweet that includes news related to the video of a Mahindra Thar, an off-road SUV made by Mahindra Group, driving on the flooded Bangalore roads easily.

Although Anand Mahindra expressed delight that his company’s vehicle is saving the lives of many passengers by preventing them from drowning, he also urged people not to take “undue risk.” He wrote,

“I’m gratified that the car kept its passengers mobile & safe. Also grateful for our customer’s faith in our cars. But I worry about people taking undue risks. I appeal to customers that overconfidence should not lead to attempting hazardous exploits”

Cartoq claims that Thar has the capacity to wade through 625mm of water. However, driving on a flooded road is risky since a strong water current might wash the car off the road. Another possibility is a problem in the vehicle’s electrical system.

Water entering the car’s intake system might result in a hydrostatic lock, which would stop the engine and leave the car trapped.
