Back-to-back film announcements dominated the weekend. It began with the announcement of theatres reopening, followed by Akshay Kumar’s announcement that his long-awaited film Sooryavanshi will now be released in theatres on October 22nd. After all, Sooryavanshi is finally getting a theatrical release after over 15-16 months of anticipation.

Akshay Kumar‘s fans like me can’t wait for the release of Sooryavanshi, which is all set for making our Diwali special this year. The police drama, which stars Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, and Ajay Devgn, will be released in theatres shortly.

As we all know, Rohit Shetty’s police dramas work really well on screen and at the box office, as they are packed with action, drama, patriotism and respect for the police service. We have already seen this kind of content in Rohit Shetty’s films such as Ajay Devgn starred Singham and Singham Returns, as well as Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster Simmba.

But Akshay’s presence in Sooryavanshi makes it more amazing as we all know that Akshay is known for his patriotic content with a soft tone.

An IPS officer points out a flaw in Akshay Kumar’s behind the scene photo with Sooryavanshi’s cast

Sooryavanshi director Rohit Shetty announced the film’s Diwali release date shortly after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray declared his plan to reopen movie theatres on October 22.

Shetty broke the news by posting a photo of himself with Uddhav Thackeray on Instagram with the caption,

Excited Akshay Kumar also announced this news by tweeting a behind-the-scenes photo from the film set, in which he can be seen alongside Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty, and Ranveer Singh, with a caption:

“So many families would be thanking Sh Uddhav Thackeray today! Grateful for allowing the reopening of cinema halls in Maharashtra from Oct 22. Ab kisi ke roke na rukegi – AA RAHI HAI POLICE #Sooryavanshi #Diwali2021.”

However, an IPS officer pointed out a mistake to Akshay Kumar on Twitter, indicating that the image did not fit the police station.

In the film and that behind the scene photo, all three actors represent police officers, and they’re all dressed in uniform in the photo. While fans were thrilled after the announcement, IPS officer RK Vij discovered a flaw in the photograph and tweeted in Hindi,

“Inspector Saheb is sitting and SP Saheb is standing, it doesn’t happen like this, janaab.”

By taking a dig on Shetty’s reel world, real-life Officer Vij is referring to the fact that Ranveer’s Simmba has a lesser designation than Ajay’s Singham and Akshay’s Sooryavanshi.

In response to Vij, Akshay politely replied,

“Well, this is a Behind-the-Scenes photo. For us artists, as soon as the camera is turned on, it is back to protocol. Regards forever to our great police forces. Hope you like the film when you watch it.”

In a reply to Akshay’s clarification, Vij states,

“Thank you for your response and respect you showed for the forces @akshaykumar My comment was also in a lighter vein Will definitely watch the film.”

Vij’s post received over fifteen thousand likes after Akshay and Vij’s exchange became viral on social media.
