Politics is a hot topic in India and with the elections nearing; everyone is showing more sensitivity towards politics. The trailer for the movie The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh have come on the Internet and television and people just cannot keep calm. The trailer was intense and we guess the movie is going to be very interesting. The movie is about Manmohan Singh, who is the former Prime Minister of India, and the storyline is based on a novel of the same name, written by Sanjay Baru, who used to be the media advisor of Manmohan Singh.
The trailer has shown almost all the characters and we thought of introducing you with who they are and who plays whom in the movie.

1. Anupam Kher – Dr Manmohan Singh
Anupam Kher plays the lead role in the movie, the character of Dr. Manmohan Singh, whom the movie is based upon. From the trailer, we could hardly tell that it was not the real Manmohan Singh, because Anupam had adapted himself in the characters so well. We also applaud the make up artist for being so accurate.
2. Ram Avatar Bhardawaj – Atal Bihari Vajpayee
Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the prime minister before Dr. Manmohan Singh, from the opposition party of Bhartiya Janta Party. The witty man’s role is played by Ram Avatar Bhardwaj.
3. Akshaye Khanna – Sanjaya Baru
Sanjay Baru was the media advisor of Manmohan Singh and thus had a very big impact during the reign of Dr. Manmohan Singh. It was him who wrote the book which the movie is based on. Akshaye Khanna plays the role of Sanjay Baru. His role seems challenging from the trailer, and the trailer made us believe that Akshaye would play the role really well.
4. Suzanne Bernert – Sonia Gandhi
Sonia Gandhi, who is actually from the Italian origins, and the widow of late Rajiv Gandhi, is being played by a European actress who does Hindi television shows and movies, Suzanne Bernert. Suzanne resembles Sonia and she has that accent. Her role in the movie is going to be one her of most iconic and biggest roles ever.

5. Arjun Mathur – Rahul Gandhi
Rahul Gandhi, the son of Sonia Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, says that he represents the youth of India, despite being 48 years old. Rahul Gandhi is generally portrayed as a crazy character who does not know what he is saying. For the movie, Arjun Mathur has been picked up to portray his character.
6. Divya Seth Shah – Mrs. Gursharan Kaur
Mrs. Gurusharan Kaur is the wife of Dr. Manmohan Singh. During the time when Manmohan Singh was the prime minister, there were sometimes when the county did not like Manmohan’s actions like staying silent of the times. Gurusharan would feel bad and intense. In the movie, Mrs. Gurusharan Kaur is played by the talented Divya Seth Shah.
7. Mike Gassaway – George W. Bush
Dr. Manmohan Singh was the prime minister of India for a tenure of 10 years, from 2004 to 2014. In the time, George W. Bush was the president of the United States and his role comes in the movie, played by Mike Gassaway because it was then when the ties between India and the United States had strengthened.
8. Vimal Verma – Lalu Prasad Yadav
Lalu Prasad Yadav is a politician from Bihar who has also served as the Chief Minister of the state. Lalu Prasad Yadav who was an active member of the Lok Sabha, and has been accused and sentenced to punishment for his four fodder scams. His role would be very challenging, because of the accent, the posture and what not. Vimal Verma shows his skills of playing his role in the trailer.
9. Avter Saini – Lal Krishna Advani
Lal Krishna Advani was in the opposition during the reign of Manmohan Singh, belonging to Bhartiya Janta Party and serving as deputy Prime Minister during the reign of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. His role in opposition and also as a member of the Lok Sabha makes him an important character, played by Avter Saini.
10. Aahana Kumra – Priyanka Gandhi
Priyanka Gandhi has a strong influence in her political party of Indian National Congress, and her role is played by the star from Lipstick Under my Burkha, AahanaKumra. She is currently 33 years old. It was Anupam Kher who introduced her and her role in the movie through social media. The audience has given a strong approval on her role.

11. Anil Rastogi – Shivraj Patil
the governor of Punjab and administrator of the union territory of Chandigarh. Anil Rastogi plays his role in the movie.
12. Shiv Subrahmanyam – P Chindambram
P. Chidambaram is one of the cabinet ministers of Dr. Manmohan Singh. He used to serve as the finance minister of India. He was caught up with some accusations, and his life hit a downfall since then. Shiv Subrahmanyam plays his role in the movie.
13. Sunil Kothari – APJ Abdul Kalam
APJ Abdul Kalam is one of the most loved presidents of India for his legendary contributions to the country. He was in power for a span during the reign of Manmohan Singh. Sunil Kothari plays the role of his iconic man.
