School is probably the most cherished moment of one’s life. Be it the troubles people used to get into, or the eyeing others out with their best friends. It was an all in all package. School life reminds us of childhood and childhood brings back a lot of memories.

Though there were a lot of rules which the students didn’t like, there are some more weird rules around the world, which not only got students in awe but also the people from different places.

1. Not allowing students to make best friends

Friends are an integral part of life. Uk’s Thomas school doesn’t allow it’s students to make best friends. In fact, it is totally banned! Apparently, the rule is there just to protect children from the trauma of broken friendships.

Well, this protection at the primary stage of life, what will happen when the friendship breaks at the later part of their life when their naive and immature about these relations?

2. No red pens for the teachers

The worst thing about school was getting an ‘F’ that too with a red pen, making it obvious that there’s some real surprise waiting for us back home when shown. But a school in the UK doesn’t allow teachers to use red pens. Stating that it creates a negative impact on students. They practice using a green pen instead.

3. Naps at noon

Gaoxin is one of the best elementary schools in China. They encourage students to take noon naps. The reason behind this is, lunchtime is at 12:10 pm and the classes start at 2 pm. Thus it is pretty hectic for the parents to pick their children up for such a short period of time.

And if the children are well rested after lunch they’ll feel refreshed during the afternoon.
There’s another strict rule followed there, that is when the children are napping they’re watched by a teacher. Maybe this is why it’s one of the best schools (?)

4. Banning relationships

Dating is very common among girls and boys in school these days. But since it affects their studies, Japanese academics put a ban on relationships so that the students can focus more on their studies.

5. Not allowing the good appearance

Some Japanese school doesn’t allow students to flaunt their beauty. They’re not allowed to use makeup, shave legs or even paint their nails. (Same goes for some schools in India, well.)

6. Ban on high fives and hugs

This might have made sense if it was done during the pandemic time, but this rule has been practiced for a long time in England and the US. They strictly don’t allow their students to have physical contact. According to them it interferes with the students’ academic experience.

7. Visiting washroom only thrice per semester

Evergreen Park High School in Chicago doesn’t allow the students to use the washroom more than 3 times per semester. The reason behind it is, students often tend to miss their classes by using the excuse to visiting the washroom.
