Sunny Deol And Dimple Kapadia Love Affair Continues For More Than 30 Years Now

There was a time when actor Sunny Deol ruled the silver screen. With back-to-back hits and his spectacular performances, he became everybody’s favourite. As they say, nothing lasts forever, neither did his charm and popularity. Today, the actor is struggling to reach the position where he once was. Sunny made his Bollywood debut with Betaab in 1983. Since then, he has been in news not only for his movies but for his controversial romantic life as well.

Both the stars won hearts with their chemistry when they featured in films. However, there was more than friendship between them. During that time, news about Sunny’s marriage to a London-based girl named Pooja came out. Fans were shocked to know that the actor was already married when he entered the industry. This ended his relationship with Amrita.

Sunny’s relationship with Dimple Kapadia

Sunny then found love in the veteran actress Dimple Kapadia who was legally the wife of Rajesh Khanna. They worked in films like Manzil-Manzil, Arjun, Aag Ka Gola, Narasimha, Gunah and more. People loved them together on the silver screen. It was said that despite their marital status, both the stars were madly in love with each other. They always maintained a dignified silence on their relationship but it was Sunny’s ex Amrita who confirmed that they were in love.

In an old interview, Amrita said,

“I think she’s having her cake and eating it too. She’s got nothing to lose and most importantly, she’s got her guy where she wants him. So what if it’s not heading anywhere? When you’ve already lived a life, you are happy with a relationship that’s at status quo.”

Amrita almost confirmed that Sunny and Dimple were in a happy space. Dimple was separated from her husband and soon speculations were rife that her daughters Rinkel and Twinkle started calling Sunny, Chote Papa. In 2009, when Dimple’s sister Simple Kapadia died, the actor was by her side to console her.

Reports started doing the rounds that Dimple and Sunny got married secretly and the actor gave her the status of his wife while introducing her in parties and social gatherings.

It was said that Sunny’s wife Pooja asked him to end his affair with Dimple or else she would leave the house with her two kids. He chose his wife over Dimple and stayed with her.

Unlike his father Dharmendra who went against the society to marry Hema Malini, Sunny decided not to end his marriage with Pooja.

However, Dimple and Sunny continued to date secretly. It is said that they were in relationship of almost 11 years. Some say that they are still head over heels in love with each other.

A couple of years back, a video of both the stars went viral in which they can be seen sitting and holding hands. It was assumed that both the stars were holidaying away from their families.

Apart from Amrita and Dimple, the actor was also linked to Raveena Tandon. Despite his controversial love life, Sunny is happy in her marriage with Pooja. Their son, Karan recently made his debut with Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. The movie was directed by Sunny himself.

It feels bad to say that Extra-marital affairs are common these days in Bollywood as well as for normal people. Some wives like Pooja choose to stay with their husband despite finding out that they had relationship outside marriage.

All said and done but we would love to see Sunny and Dimple once again on the silver screen. On a related note, Dimple has worked in a Hollywood project titled TENET. The movie is directed by Christopher Nolan.
