11 South Indian Actors Who Rejected Superhit Bollywood Movies Without Any Regrets

South Indian Film industry is indeed a very big platform. But if compared to Bollywood, it is not that of a big thing. Bollywood does give a lot more exposure to the actors which helps them later in their careers. Not only exposure but also some unnecessary drama. But there are actors who allegedly declined a lot of Bollywood films. Some of the actors are listed down below:

1. Anushka Shetty

Anushka Shetty gained the most clout after the release of Baahubali. But when she was offered Singham in 2011, she rejected it. She even had to decline Ittefaq due of her packed timeframe.

2. Mahesh Babu

He is one of the most famous actors in the south Indian film industry. We do see him in Hindi films which are mostly dubbed. When he gets Bollywood film offers he rejects them cause he prefers sticking to where he rose from.

3. Fahadh Faasil

Vishal Bhardwaj offered him a movie. Which he talked about in an interview as well, he said that he did interact with Vishal and the scrip that was pitched was beautiful. Fahadh was quite impressed with it and looked forward to that film.

He also had reciprocated quite a few roles in Bollywood. But he said that he’d act those roles out when he’s confident enough to do so. He believes that whatever he is today is because of the Malayalam film industry.

4. Nayanthara

For the song One to three four get on the dance floor in the film Chennai Express, Nayanthara was approached. She got a chance to share the screen with Bollywood Badshah, SRK. But she rejected that offer, though the reasons are unknown.

5. Allu Arjun

Bajrangi Bhaijaan was first offered to Allu Arjun as there were plans of that films being made in multiple languages. Since Allu rejected it, Hrithik Roshan was approached. After it was rejected by Hrithik as well, Salman was pitched for the same and acted the film out.

Allu Arjun was also offered Ranveer Singh starrer 83, which he also rejected.

6. Nivin Pauly

Though he did mention that doing films in any language except Malayali hampers a bit on his confidence. But at the same time, he wanted to test his boundaries regarding the same. He was offered to play the of Vicky Kaushal in the film Manmarziyaan.

Nivin was also the first choice for Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Chhichhore.

7. Rashmika Mandanna

Rashmika Mandanna was tagged as the national crush on India. After she gained the clout she was offered to share the screen with Shahid Kapoor for the remake of the film Jersey. She rejected the films because she allegedly thought she wasn’t good enough for the film. So she decided on doing just commercial films.

8. Puneeth Rajkumar

Mostly seen for Kannada films. Puneeth was also pitched for the film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He rejected that film because he wasn’t much impressed by the script.

9. Yash

Gained all the well-deserved popularity after the film, KGF. Since the release of that film, he was offered Laal Kaptaan. Yash rejected the offer and the film was offered to Saif Ali Khan.

10. Darshan

The Kannada star was offered to play the role of antagonist in the film Dabangg 3. But since he rejected the film, it was later offered to some other actor.

11. Vijay Devarakonda

Vijay Devarakonda rejected a lot of Bollywood scripts. Which included some very high-budgeted films which could’ve been a knockoff for him bagging some good popularity and amount. Recently he accepted Karan Johar’s Kiger which will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
