Shloka Mehta Ambani, was a relatively lesser-known name, despite being the Rosy Blue Diamonds heiress, till she made national headlines in the year 2018, when the sudden news of her engagement to Reliance scion Akash Ambani made a topic of collective interest. The youngest child of diamantaire Rusell and Mona Mehta became a subject of curiosity and Google search. Shloka met Akash when they were toddlers studying at Mumbai’s Dhirubhai Ambani School. After dating for few years, Akash proposed her for marriage in Goa.

But despite having born into a business family and married into India’s richest one, Shloka revealed in an interview that she was never drawn to her family business and rather took a shine to philanthrophy after coming back to India. Shloka Mehta got married to Akash Ambani, son of Reliance Chairperson Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani. She spent five years studying overseas at Princeton University. Back in college, Mehta spent hours volunteering for different causes. The seed of giving back had been planted early on and Shloka credits the curriculum of Dhirubhai Ambani school for nurturing her passion towards social service. Shloka has recently launched the website, ‘ConnectFor’ which aims to connect volunteers with NGO, bridging the wide gap between the two.
