This Is How Much The Judges Invested In The First Season Of Shark Tank India

Shark Tank India received a lot of love from the audiences. People with their ideas got funded and received the financial help they required and had a fair shot at fulfilling their dreams. The Indian version of the Shark Tank  premiered on December 20, 2021, and concluded its first session sometime back. The show was a big hit, drawing in talented people from all around the country. Seven self-made multi-millionaires served as judges on the show, deciding whether or not to finance competitors’ business ideas based on their pitch.

One of the most curious thing to know about the show would be how much money did the sharks invested in the startups who pitched their idea, below are the details:

1. Aman Gupta

Aman Gupta is the Co-founder and CMO of boAt, a company that sells earphones and headphones, and very well-high rated music systems. He is one of the sharks on Shark Tank India.

Aman Gupta has partnered with several firms, notably FREECULTR, Bummer, Skippi Ice Pops, Shiprocket, WickedGud, Anveshan, and 10club, in addition to Shark Tank India. According to dailyo, Aman, who has a combined wealth of around 700 crores, has invested Rs 9.358 crore in 28 deals during the first season of the series. Though he does pull in a lot of comic relief to the show, his honesty helped a lot of people.

2. Ghazal Alagh

Ghazal Alagh, a corporate instructor converted artist and businesswoman, is the Co-Founder and Chief Mama of ‘Mamaearth’.

She has a combined wealth of roughly 148 crore Indian rupees. Ghazal invested approximately Rs. 1.2 crores in 7 firms.

3. Ashneer Grover

Ashneer Grover is the MD as well as Co-Founder of Bharat Pe, an online payment technology that has been making news since the first series of Shark Tank India. Ashneer is one of the panelists that has captivated the audience throughout the show. People despise him as much as they like him for his distinctive style and candor.

IndiaGold, The Whole Truth, OTO Capital, and Front Row are among the Indian enterprises which Ashneer Grover has financed. According to reports, the shark has invested approximately Rs. 5.383 crores in 21 deals in the first season of Shark Tank India.

4. Anupam Mittal

Anupam Mittal, the founder and Chairman of Shaadi.com, one of India’s top matrimony platforms, was featured on the hit TV show Shark Tank India as one of the sharks. Mittal not only built businesses and invested in high-profile firms such as ElectricPe, CashBook, and Lyst, and he also created two Bollywood films, Flavors and 99.

This shark revealed his personalized credentials on the first series of Shark Tank India when he pledged Rs 5.4 crore to 24 different enterprises. He expressed his delight at the prospect of providing possibilities to our youngpreneurs, womenpreneurs, bharatpreneurs, and mumpreneurs. All he tries to do is to make the self-inspired people a little more inspired to benefit all of them along.

Recently, Shaadi.com CEO Anupam Mittal took to Instagram to share the proportion of business people who received funding from the program. He stated this evaluation in the post:

“67 out of 198 pitches scored deals on the show. 59 [87%] had founders with no IIT/IIM degrees, 45 [67%] had at least one co-founder <25 years, 40 [60%] had never been funded previously, 29 [43%] had at least one woman co-founder, 20 [30%] were from Tier II/III & rural India and 18 [27%] had couples/families as co-founders.”

5. Namita Thapar

Namita Thapar, the Chief Executive Officer of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, is without a hesitation one of India’s most accomplished businesswomen. Since 2001, Namita has worked for numerous firms in the United States, including GlaxoSmithKline and Guidant Corporation, in several growth and profitability capacities. However, in the first round of Shark Tank India, this shark invested nearly Rs 10 crore in 25 projects.

Namita authored an article for YourStory in which she stated,

“The entire shoot ended by December 12, 2021, and the show launched on December 20. I saw around 170 pitches and invested Rs 10 crore in 25 companies that touched my heart. I invested Rs 7 crore during the show and Rs 3 crore post the show in deals I had lost out on and in a few existing deals to increase my stake.”

6. Vineeta Singh

Vineeta Singh, co-founder, and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics, a beauty vendor business. Vineeta turned down a Rs 1 crore offer of employment to pursue entrepreneurship after graduating from IIT-Madras and IIM-Ahmedabad.

Vineeta’s obstacles as a businesswoman were only increasing. Sugar Cosmetics will have a network of 5 million aesthetic aficionados across different operating systems by 2022. Her financial status is reported to be Rs 300 crore, and she financed around Rs 3.042 crore in 15 start-ups during the first series of Shark Tank India.

7. Peyush Bansal

Peyush Bansal, the CEO, and co-founder of Lenskart has a combined wealth of 600 crores. Since his first appearance on the television program Shark Tank India, he has become a household celebrity.

Peyush’s work ethic helped Lenskart achieve unprecedented levels, and now he assists companies in the program that he founded. But the main question is how much did he invest in startups and that amount is calculated to be around, Rs 8.297 crore in 27 ventures. And one of them has already started working full-fledged.

This concludes that Namita is at the top of the list.
