It all started when an internet user sent a message on X (formerly Twitter) urging people to boycott UT 69. The online user stated that Raj Kundra’s movie ought to be banned because of the manner in which he has denigrated women’s dignity. In her post, an internet user wrote,

As he navigated the hectic and infamous Arthur Road Jail, Kundra revealed that the film sought to accurately portray his experiences there, turning it into a dark comedy that took place both in the present and during his incarceration.
