1. Bara Imambara

Located amidst of Gomti River and greenery, it was built in 1784 by Nawab Asaf-Ud-Daula. It is among the top visited place in Lucknow. Its unique architecture shows the Mughals engineering. Here no one can visit without a guide and if someone tries to do, they will definitely lose their path.

2. Chota Imambara (Hussainabad Imambara)

Located near Bara Imambara in Chowk Luckonw, is known as The Palace of Lights. You can see different chandeliers, hamam for royal families, fountains, garden and mosque inside it. It was built in 1838 by Muhammad Ali Shah.

3. The Residency

It was built between 1780 to 1800 AD for British as resident for general. Now, today it is heritage site and maintained by the government, as there is a old museum inside. It shows the glimpse of Nawabs of Lucknow, paintings, engineering, and lifestyle. Every evening a light and sound show is played to display the history of the Residency.

4. Jama Masjid

One of the most important and holy place in Lucknow. It is known everywhere because of its design and architecture. A symbol of belief, art, culture, unity, and religion has seen many festivals. 260 pillars support this yellow sandstone mosque with 15 arched domes that are pleasing for eyes.

5. Rumi Darwaza (Turkish Gate)

Located near Bhul Bhullaiya, it was built by Nawab-Asaf-Ud-Dowlah in Awadhi architecture, in 1784. This sixty feet tall darwaza is a logo of Lucknow city. It is not allowed to go to terrace of the gate now but from there you can see the city.

6. Begum Hazarat Mahal Park

This park was built in 1962 in the memory of a courageous woman Begum Hazrat Mahal. The Begum of Awadh and park had her memorial that bears the coat of Arms of royal families. She revolted against the British rise in 1857. It is great attraction during Holi and Dushera.

7. Chattar Manzil

Chattar Manzil or Umbrella palace is a building which served as a a palace for the rulers of Awadh and their wives. This was constructed in 1789 had became major stronghold for revolutionaries in 1857. Its architecture is inspired from Indo-European-Nawabi architectural style.

8. Lucknow Museum
