Nusrat Jahan Ruhi is an Indian film actress born in Kolkata who predominantly works in Bengali Cinema. She is known for her works in Shatru (2011), Har Har Byomkesh (2015) and Zulfiqar (2016). Nusrat started her modelling career after winning the beauty contest Fair-one Miss Kolkata in 2010. She made her Tollywood debut in film Shotru with Jeet. After that she appeared in two item songs, namely Chicken Tandoori from Action and Desi Chhori from Yoddha – The Warrior, both of which were instant hits and became chart-busters. Nushrat was also a part of the theme song of Bengal Celebrity League for the team Midnapoor Mighties.
During March 2019, Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, also the president of Trinamool Congress Party announced the names of 42 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2019, the two names came as a surprise to all. They duo were Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan. Nusrat would contest the upcoming general election of 2019 from Bashirat Lok Sabha Consituency. In this election Nusrat emerged as the winner by the margin of 350000 votes. Nusrat husband is Nikhil Jain and they were in a relationship since 2018. They got married in 2019 in Turkey.
