Jism, being his hit debut in the big screens, John has come a long way in the industry. The way he maintains himself looks like it all happened yesterday. 1. John Abraham was born on December 17, 1972, in Kochi, Kerala.

John was named Farhan Irani initially, which was given by his maternal family, but he uses the name John Abraham which is just the backward of his Dad’s name- Abraham John.

2. John was born to a Malayali Nasrani father and a Parsi mother.

His father Abraham John, is an architect by profession. His father was a cancer patient who fought the deadly disease and survived. His mother’s name is Firoza Irani who is a homemaker and charity worker. John has two siblings Alan Abraham and Sushy Mathew. Alam is also an architect and works along with his dad in their company.

3. Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Hrithik Roshan were his school mates and are good friends.

John studied at Bombay Scottish School in Mahim, Mumbai.

4. One of the highly educated celebrities in Bollywood.

John went to Jai Hind College, University of Mumbai. He has done his B.A in Economics from Jai Hind College, the University of Mumbai and later he did MBA from Mumbai Educational Trust.

5. John was also an active athlete.

John was very active in athletics and also took part in 100m and 200m races. He even represented his school at the district level in the 100 m race. Though he also aspired to be an architect along with his father, his destiny took him somewhere else.

Though the movie did well at the screens, John was nominated as Filmfare Best Debut Award. Next, he was seen in the movie Dhoom, where a played a negative role, and the movie was quite a success commercially and that is what established him as an actor. 11. John got married to Priya Runchal.

On 3rd January 2014, they tied the knot. Before tying the knot with Priya, John has been in 2 relationships. The first one was with Riya sen, where John wanted to get married, but she didn’t agree because she wanted to set her career in Bollywood and they broke up. The second relationship was with Bipasha Basu about which we all know. They dated for almost 8 years and later Bipasha broke up seeing his closeness with Priya Ranchul whom he met at the gym at Bandra and fell in love.

And also as a promotion manager in an organization termed as Time and Space Media Entertainment Promotions Ltd and Enterprises Nexus.

In the year 2005, John was featured in the movie Water, which was a great success and in the year 2006, he was seen in the movie, Baabul, where he played a supporting role. Later on, he appeared in many successful movies like Garam Masala, Taxi no 9211, Dostana, New York, Housefull 2, Welcome Back, and Dishoom. In the year 2013, John appeared in Madras Cafe, which was again a blockbuster movie and his actions were absolutely jaw-dropping.

16. John as a producer.

John made his debut as a producer in the year 2012 With the movie Vicky Donor, which did absolutely great at the box office, and the film earned National Award for the “Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment”. His second movie as a producer was Madras Cafe which was directed by Shoojit Sircar and was a blockbuster movie.

17. John is actively involved in PETA and Habitat for Humanity.

Considering his religion, people would have assumed his background, but John is purely a vegetarian and an absolute animal lover. In Fact in the year 2013, on behalf of PETA, John wrote a letter to the Minister for Environment and Forests, Jayanthi Natarajan, requesting her to make all the circuses animal-free in order to reduce the cruelty faced by animals.
