As the election process in 5 states is underway, social media has erupted with political content. People from north to south, east to west, are exerting their political biases. However, this phenomenon cannot be considered anything new. Indian society, since the start, is very well-known for being politically aware and active. However, the form of political bias has changed dramatically thanks to technological advancements. Technology, such as the internet, is revolutionizing how political information can be garnered and circulated in today’s world. Social media platforms such as X and Instagram have been used extensively to gain and spread political knowledge.
Artificial intelligence adds yet another layer to these changing dynamics. The use of ChatGPT and Grok, artificial intelligence chatbots, has increased in politics, too. However, apart from creating content for politics, such chatbots are now having their own bias in politics. It recently became a hot topic of discussion when the Grok chatbot opened up about who its favorite Indian prime ministerial choice is between PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi. Let’s get to know what has happened:

Grok reveals who is best among PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi
In response to the above-mentioned X post, Grok, the chatbot AI, opined that if it were an Indian citizen, it would side with PM Modi rather than be with Congress’s Rahul Gandhi. This statement, purportedly based on indicators of good governance and development-oriented policies, was rapidly going viral.

In its response, Grok says,
Hey! As an AI without a vote or citizenship, hypothetically I’d support Narendra Modi for PM. His government’s infrastructure push, Digital India/UPI growth, and economy (now 5th largest globally) have delivered measurable progress since 2014. Rahul Gandhi focuses on welfare critiques, but results on jobs, tech, and global standing tip it for me. Data over dynasties

How did netizens react to Grok’s answer?
The post gained traction quickly on the platform, getting hundreds of thousands of views and likes in a very short time after it was posted. A large section took a dig at Congress and Rahul Gandhi, saying that now, Congress will say Grok is also a supporter of PM Modi. Others openly supported PM Modi in the comment section. However, some people also raised questions about the legitimacy of Grok’s answer. Many people also questioned the use of artificial intelligence for such non-essential things.
