Govinda And Sunita Remarried Again After Having Two Children, A Look At Their Love Story

Govinda doesn’t need any introduction. From giving us back-to-back blockbusters to dancing to many foot-tapping dance numbers, he had an entire generation crushing over him for all right reasons. The actor is romantic in real life as well. He is married to Sunita and today, we are going to tell you about their beautiful love story.

This is how it started

Govinda’s maternal uncle was married to Sunita’s elder sister. While struggling as an actor, he used to live with his uncle where he met Sunita many times. Both had different personalities due to which they used to fight like kids. Govinda was a desi munda whereas Sunita was very sophisticated. She used to dress up perfectly that made the actor think that she is very cunning.

Both of them loved dancing. Govinda’s uncle often told them to have a dance competition which Sunita denied thinking that Govinda was a small-town guy.

Soon they started liking each other. Sunita herself said that Govinda was emotional which was the reason she fell for him. In fact, Sunita’s brother used to be the postmaster who exchanged their love letters.

Marriage

The couple had love cum arranged marriage. Once Sunita’s mother saw one of the letters that she sent to Govinda in which she wrote that she wanted to marry him as soon as possible. Govinda’s mother Nirmala Devi liked Sunita and she told the actor that one day he will marry her.

Their marriage was a secret affair as Govinda was at the peak of his career. His friends suggested him that if people came to know about his marital status, it will impact his female fan base. He kept his marriage a secret and people came to know about it only after the birth of his daughter, Narmmadaa.

A family man

Govinda loves his family and always takes out time to spend with his kids. Sunita once said,

“At home, Govinda is a really simple man, always trying to make the kids laugh. Whenever he sees that I am upset, he starts playing with me as well.”

Talking about if he is romantic, she stated,

“Once on my birthday, we decided to go to Taj for a candlelit dinner. We thought about trying Champagne for the first time as we wanted to do something different. We ordered for one. I took a sip and before he went ahead, he called up his mom to ask for permission.”

As Govinda was busy with his films, sometimes he wasn’t able to give his time to Sunita which was the reason behind their fights. However, he always came up with something sweet to make her happy.

Speculations were rife that the actor was cheating on his wife. Reacting to it, Sunita stated that she trusts her husband as he is loyal and won’t run after other woman. She said,

“He is a very nice man. He never lies. He is a very good husband.”

Re-married in 2014

Govinda was not happy with the fact that he had to keep his marriage with Sunita a secret. The couple remarried on their 25th anniversary as it was Govinda’s mother’s last wish that she wanted them to take nuptial vows again.

The actor said,

“It was my mother’s wish that I re-marry Sunita, only when I reach the age of 49. My mother had specified that Sunita and I can go through a sampoorna vivah (complete wedding) only after 25 years of our togetherness. So we had just gone through a formal Gandharva Vivah back in 1987. I completed 49 in December 2014 and in January we went through a full-fledged wedding.”

Talking about marrying him again, Sunita said,

“It was better than the first time. Twenty five years ago, Govinda was at the peak of his career. Those days, it was believed that marital status affects the fan following of a star and hence, we had kept out marriage a secret for the longest time. I remember we only announced the wedding after our daughter Narmmadaa was born. This time around, I was more excited as it was not chup chup ke. It was his idea. His close friend Faisal made all the arrangements and his friends insisted that we do it in London. Havan, pheras, sindoor, mangalsutra…everything happened as per the rituals.”

Sunita and Govinda are blessed with two kids, Narmmadaa, and Yashvardhan. The couple is a match made in heaven. We wish them a great future ahead.
