Customer Gets Non-Veg Burger Instead Of Veg At Cafe, Had To Pay This Much Fine

When ordering at a café, people expect to receive what they ask for. It is as basic as it can be. However, when they get something different, it’s frustrating. It disrupts the café experience, leaving customers disappointed. A similar incident took place at the Gulbai Tekra branch of Cafe Mocha.

Instances of food mishaps, like insects in meals, aren’t rare in the eateries or even food served by the railways. However, this mix-up at Mocha Cafe stirred significant controversy.

Customers ordered Veg Burgers but were served Non-Veg ones

In a recent incident at Mocha Cafe’s Gulbai Tekra branch, Ahmedabad, has stirred controversy after customers received non-vegetarian food instead of their vegetarian orders. Four customers namely Vitasta Vyas, Ruchita Shah, Vela Pandya, and Arjvi Shah visited the café on Wednesday evening to eat their preferred delicacies which were Veg Burgers. While they did receive burgers surprisingly it was filled with a Non-Veg patty.

Vitasta Vyas, speaking to the media, recounted the incident, stating,

“Upon ordering a burger, we were served a non-vegetarian one instead. Two of my friends had already taken a few bites when they noticed it looked like chicken. When we brought this to the attention of the restaurant manager, he initially refused to acknowledge the mistake.”

Following extensive argument, the café management reluctantly admitted their error. Subsequently, the incident was escalated to the Food Department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). In response, the AMC imposed a fine of Rs. 5000 on the café as a consequence of the misstep.

The Cafe was bound to pay the amount which they eventually did. Such instances show how cafes should be very careful while serving food, especially in matters concerning dietary preferences.
