16 Bollywood Stunt Doubles Who Actually Performs High Risk Stunts

Not everybody is like Tom Cruise, who is healthy and trained enough to perform his own stunts in a movie. In Bollywood, aside Tiger Shroff, we hardly have actors who like to perform their stunts without a double. You will be surprised to know that most of our superstars use body double to perform dangerous stunts in movies.

In this blog, we have listed down the Bollywood actors and actresses who don’t perform their stunts on their own.

1. Salman Khan- Ek Tha Tiger

All those building hopping and dangerous gun-wielding stunts were not performed by Salman Khan, but his body double Jawed El Berni.

2. Katrina Kaif- Dhoom 3

The action scenes and aerial acts in the film Dhoom 3, which had Aamir Khan in double role, were performed by Katrina Kaif’s body double who looks just like her.

3. Hrithik Roshan- Mohenjo Daro

In the historical saga Mohenjo Daro, Hrithik Roshan used a body doubles for stunt sequences in the film. The film didn’t perform very well at the box office, which led to the actor taking a long break from the cinema.

4. Abhishek Bachchan- Raavan

Abhishek Bachchan played the role of a dacoit in Mani Ratnam’s iconic film Raavan. For the fighting sequences, he used a body double named M.S. Balram.

5. Aamir Khan– Dhoom 3

Not only Katrina Kaif, but the film’s lead actor Aamir Khan also used a body double to do his stunts on his part. Also, Aamir Khan is known as Mr. Perfectionist for walking extra mile to ace his roles.

6. Akshay Kumar- Chandni Chowk to China

The MMA-trained actor Akshay Kumar also used a stuntsman to do the stunts on his part, in Chandni Chowk to China. Although, the actor likes to perform his stunts on his own.

7. Priyanka Chopra- Mary Kom

The filmmaker Omung Kumar hired a real boxer as a body double so that Priyanka Chopra’s blows look like a real boxer in the film. The film did very well at the box office, with PeeCee nailing the role of MC Mary Kom.

8. Hrithik Roshan- Bang Bang

Hrithik Roshan performed most of the stunts in Katrina Kaif starrer Bang Bang. However, after an injury, he had to use to a stuntsman to perform the action sequences.

9. Shah Rukh Khan- Fan

Shah Rukh Khan has played the double role in the film. He played both the actor and his fan by himself. However, for an action sequence filmed in Croatia, he used a body double to do the heavy lifting for him.

10. Dimple Kapadia

Dimple Kapadia also used body doubles for doing action sequences in her film. One of her doubles was Reshma, who is a prominent stunts woman in the film industry.

11. Hema Malini- Sholay

The above-mentioned Reshma also played the body double to ‘Dream Girl’ Hema Malini in the iconic film Sholay.

12. Rani Mukerji- Mardaani

A scene where Rani Mukerji’s character Shivani chases a goon on a bike was actually performed by a body double.

13. Shah Rukh Khan- Don

Shah Rukh Khan used a body double for doing the dangerous action sequences in Farhan Akhtar’s Don. For the uninitiated, SRK faced a back injury while filming Boney Kapoor’s film Shakti. Maybe, that prompted the actor to use body doubles for doing action sequences in his films.

14. Shah Rukh Khan- Chennai Express

It wasn’t Shah Rukh Khan but this body double that was being beaten black and blue by the South Indian goons. We are not even complaining, because as long as SRK is entertaining us, nothing else matters.

15. Meenakshi Sheshadri

Prominent stuntswoman Reshma, also played the body double to Damini actress Meenakshi Sheshadri. She played the body double to Meenakshi in Damini that also starred Rishi Kapoor and Sunny Deol in prominent roles.

16. Ranveer Singh- Bajirao Mastani

Ranveer Singh played the role of a Maratha ruler in the period saga. He used a body double to perform the fighting scenes in the film, though there were not too many.
