This movie was released in 1957, just after 10 years of India’s independence, it earned an Oscar nomination. The movie featured Sunil Dutt, Rajendra Kumar, Raaj Kumar and Nargis in the main roles. 6. Hey Ram – 2000

The movie was released in 2000 and was there in the nominations in the 73rd Oscar Ceremony.

7. Parinda – 1989

This is a crime, thriller movie, from 1989. Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the movie got its nominations in the 62nd Oscars. The movie stars Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, and Madhuri Dixit.

8. Taare Zameen Par – 2007

This movie from 2007 is a masterpiece. The movie was titled Like Stars on the Earth, for its international release. The movie is created and directed by Aamir Kham, who also stars in the movie as a teacher to a dyslexic kid, Ishaan. The movie revolves around the teacher and the kid.
