Artificial Intelligence

In this day and age of technological advancements, people are looking for solutions to automate regular and repetitive tasks as much as possible. As such, the development of artificial intelligence algorithms has come a long way to help in automation and reduce human labor. It would give us humans enough time to focus on the development of our own skills and pursue our dreams and aspirations.

With the potential artificial intelligence has shown, many industries are bound to change their working strategies and rules. Industries will change how they operate and adopt newer and more efficient methods which depend on AI algorithms.

Here we will discuss how AI would be changing several industries and services that we use almost regularly:

1. Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare

The application of Artificial Intelligence to automate medical procedures and negate possible complications is not a new idea. AI can be used to analyze large amounts of medical records and data to find cures for certain unique ailments. In the coming years, we can expect AI to take over physicians and surgeons in certain aspects of healthcare services.

2. AI in Automobile

Self-driving cars are the new rage in the current automobile industry. With specialized AI algorithms that can even drive cars on busy roads and detect possible road obstructions and make decisions to avoid certain routes or take detours, the automobile industry has changed greatly due to the influence of AI.

Nowadays, only personal cars have been fitted with self-driving technology, but it is not too far in the future where you can expect AI to be used in trucks and buses for moving goods and ferrying people.

3. Artificial Intelligence in Security

Artificial intelligence can be very useful for security purposes. Using images and patterns, AI can determine possible cases of terrorism or other similar atrocious acts.

With the threat of potential cyber threats looming over us, AI can be used to gather insights and use logic to identify the relationships between threats, like malicious files, suspicious IP addresses, or insiders. Where expert security analysts would take a lot of time to respond, AI can block harmful threats up to 60 times faster.

4. AI in E-Commerce

Artificial intelligence algorithms are very important for e-Commerce and would play an important role in every sector of this industry – from user experience to marketing to fulfillment and distribution.

In the future, we can expect AI would drive e-commerce by different means like personalized recommendations, chat-bots, image-based advertisements, and warehouse and inventory automation.

5. AI in Law Enforcement and Warfare

Taking care of unruly mobs and armed and violent pedestrians often poses a certain level of threat to policemen and other forces concerned with the task of law enforcement. Further, there have even been cases of corruption, where the concerned forces have resorted to bribery in exchange for looking over offenses.

These risks can be mitigated by using AI systems to carry out the respective tasks. Though using humanoid robots to break up mobs and fights might not happen soon, simple tasks like parking offenses, or jumping traffic lights can be taken care of using AI algorithms.

Artificial intelligence has been used in warfare and military reconnaissance tasks with the use and application of satellites, unmanned drones, and active radar homing missiles among many others.

6. Artificial Intelligence in Assistive technology and Customer Service

Google and Amazon are not the only companies to be working on the development and implementation of assistive artificial intelligence technologies like Google Assistant and Alexa. Others like Siri, Cortana, Bixby, Youper, and Robin are pretty popular and help in scheduling and maintaining our daily schedules.

AI bots have been introduced to help customers and clients solve regular problems via chat or call. They have reduced human work to complete or solve easy and repetitive problems.

7. How AI Will Affect Human Employees?

Contrary to what many fear, AI will not completely take over human jobs in the near future. There are many jobs, where human force and decision-making would be better than employing or using AI systems.

Many small companies and businesses would be against using AI and instead focus on using the human workforce due to the exorbitant rates of developing, installing, running, and maintaining an AI system. All-purpose AI algorithms might even be beyond the scope of funds available to them.

It would be efficient to replace the human workforce with AI only in cases of routine jobs and repetitive tasks like packing goods, segregating material, taking customer queries, and such.

After AI takes over some jobs, human employees will be trained and the responsibilities would be diverted to development, maintenance, and working on the AI algorithms. A lot of work and responsibilities would open up in the back end of the company, and those would be done by humans.

So, it is a misconception when many say that using AI systems in workplaces will result in many employees being laid off. Rather, the responsibilities would get diverted and companies would be on the lookout for a different kind of talent.

What can be said about the future is that there will be more job opportunities for people with a moderate level of talent and understanding of their field. Illiterate or non-talented candidates might be in little trouble in the near future when it comes to landing a job where they are needed.
