In recent times we have seen two movies releasing on cricketers life. The first one to release was “Azhar” based on former India Cricket Team Captain Mohammad Azharuddin and the next was Sushant Singh Rajput starrer “M.S. Dhoni : The Untold Story” based on life of M.S. Dhoni. The third one to come in the series is mother of all sports biopics which is based on life of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, which titles “Sachin : A Billion Dreams”.

1. The work on “Sachin: A Billion Dreams” started back in 2012.

Ravi Bhagchandka started to working on the biopic in 2012, even before Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Mary Kom.

2. The movie is directed by London based Emmy-nominated director, James Erskin.

James has directed number of sports biopics.

3. The music for the upcoming biopic is being composed by Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman.

Rahman himself feels the film will be one of the biggest movie-going events of the year.

In an interview Sachin said:

“Acting is not something that I dreamt of. Without any doubt, acting was more challenging than playing cricket. I enjoyed playing more”

4. When it was time to choose an actor who can play the role of young Tendulkar.

As the makers were looking for someone who would have similar body language and mannerism like Sachin himself. So finally it was decided to cast Sachin’s son Arjun Tendulkar for the role.

5. The role of Nitin Tendulkar, eldest brother of Sachin is played by popular name of Marathi stage actor Mayuresh Pem.

Mayuresh has given wonderful performance in super-hit Marathi play All The Best-2 for which he received 5 nominations at Sanskruti Kala Darpan awards.

6. Sachin Tendulkar coach Ramakant Achrekar is also likely to feature in the upcoming biopic.

7. Many members of cricket fraternity are getting featured in “Sachin: A Billion Dreams” and many scenes are being shot in real time.
