Chitrangada Singh Love Life, Marriage With A Golfer And An Alleged Affair With A Director

Chitrangada Singh is one of the hottest and most talented actresses of the silver screen. There is no denying the fact that she is blessed with killer looks. Her smile, beautiful eyes and charming persona is enough to make any man go weak in knees. From famous rapper Honey Singh writing rap for her to publicly saying that she doesn’t belong to earth, it goes without saying that she has killed many with her looks. Chitrangada enjoys a huge fan following and in fact, people can go to any extent just to get her glance. But, do you know, she was married to Jyoti Singh Randhawa? However, the couple parted ways in 2014.

Chitrangada’s Big Bollywood Break

She started her career in 1994 with some modelling assignments. She worked for big brands like ICICI bank and Alukkas jewellery. Chitrangada Singh also featured in Gulzar’s video song, Sunset Point and then starred in Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s music video. Sudhir Mishra gave her a break by offering Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi in 2003. She became a star and was praised for her spectacular performance. After this, she also worked in 2005 film Kal. However, she soon decided to take 3-year long sabbatical. This affected her acting career.

Earlier, in an interview to TOI, the actress said,

“Taking breaks took a toll on my career, I guess. You know, from when I started, my life has gone through phases where my priorities changed. I debuted and then took a break for four years, and then I came back and again took a two years’ break.”

She also added,

“In the film industry, if you are not present when opportunity is coming your way, it will surely affect your career. That is what happened to me”.

Her struggle after she made a comeback

In 2008, Chitrangada Singh featured in Sanjay Suri and Sharman Joshi starrer Sorry Bhai. The film doomed at the box office. The film hit the theatres during the Mumbai attack and this could be one of the reasons behind its failure.

Things never go back being the same after you take a break. Thus, it was too difficult for the lady to get the similar place, still she continued to work hard. Sudhir Mishra’s Yeh Saali Zindagi turned about to be game-changer for her. She once again proved her acting mettle. Later, she featured in Joker, I Me Aur Mai, Inkaar and Gabbar Is Back.

Her song, Kundi Mat Khadkao Raja, Seedha Andar Aao Raja became a huge hit. It is still hard to get over her come-hither moves. The actress worked with Sudhir in many films. The latter praised her saying, “Well, I bring in Chitrangada in my films since she is intelligent and doesn’t ask stupid questions. She is wonderful in the film [Inkaar].”

Honey Singh’s Fanboying over Chitrangada

Yo Yo Honey Singh was mesmerised by her beauty. In fact, he also dedicated a few lines of his rap to her. He wrote:

Maana tujhse pehle maine kaiyyon ko phera hai,
Kaiyyon ko apne jaadu mein ghera hai,
Par aaj, agar, tu haan kar de,
Toh bhagwaan ki kasam, phir yeh Yo Yo tera hai.

In an interview to a leading daily, the rapper admitted that he can leave his 562 girlfriends just for Chitrangada. He said,

“Chitrangda isn’t from earth. She’s from Pandora. Woh ek alag planet se hi hai, she’s that beautiful.”

Chitrangada’s marriage with golfer Jyoti Singh Randhawa

She entered the film industry post her marriage with Jyoti Singh Randhawa. Both knew each other since school days and their dads were the same regiment in the army. The couple also had a five year long courtship before getting married. They duo tied the knot in 2001. The couple have a son, Zorawar.

The split with Jyoti

The couple decided to end their 13 –year-long marriage in 2014 after they felt that things were not working out between them.

The duo shocked everyone when they headed for a divorce at a Gurugram court. According to a report in TOI, Jyoti had a close friend in the city. Apparently, the actress also found him sneaking into his neighbours’ house during the wee hours in the morning after which she moved to Mumbai.

Chitrangada told Mumbai Mirror,

“There are pressures on any relationship. You have to work on it, just as you work on other things. I am not living a perfect life.”

Post Divorce, Jyoti also confessed,

“I miss Chitrangda. The house feels empty.”

Chitrangda closeness with Sudhir Mishra

Speculations were rife that Chitranda’s married life was affected because of her closeness with Sudhir Mishra. Both of them were many times spotted together at Mumbai’s restaurants. The director had a problem with her doing an item number in Joker. It was also said that a clash started between them after she signed Desi Boys despite he asked her not to take up such a glam role. Reports say that Sudhir’s interference made Chitrangada a feel claustrophobic. A source close to the actress said,

“She could not take it any longer. Enough is enough.”

Zorawar’s custody

After their divorce, Zorawar’s custody is with Chitrangada. The couple never let their relationship affect their son. They always took out time to spend with him.

Jyoti said,

“A long distance relationship is tough to handle since both of us are traveling. Luckily, our son is very understanding and mature. So far, we have lucky that we are able to manage our home well. I stay at home when she is working, and when I have to go for golf tournaments, she returns home. So one of us is always there for Zorawar.”

It seems like the actress wants to keep her child away from the glamorous life. She once said,

“He needs to know me as a mother first. When he grows up, he will only know about my work as an actress.”

Chitragada’s projects

Chitrangada was last seen in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 and Baazar. Talking about the roles, she revealed to TOI, “Most of the times filmmakers came up to me with films that were either women-centric or that of a strong intellectual actor who is not interested in playing a quintessential Hindi film heroine.”

She added, “All I am saying is I am an actor, I can play everything. At the same time, I am as normal, fun-loving as a regular girl.”
