Zepto Responds After Vir Das Claims The Company Delivered A Fake Rs 50,000 Apple Watch, Calls It a “Full Scam”

Comedian Vir Das alleged he received a fake Apple Watch worth Rs 50,000 from Zepto, prompting the quick-commerce platform to take quick action

Quick commerce platforms have revolutionized the buying process for people. Companies promising deliveries within 10 to 30 minutes have transformed consumer behavior, particularly in urban areas where speed and convenience have become major priorities. Firms such as Zepto, Blinkit, Instamart, etc., put immense efforts into making deliveries faster and more convenient for customers using dark stores and logistics infrastructure. People have enjoyed their services since they have made their lives easier by not having to go out for shopping anymore.

However, while expanding product categories to include costlier devices, one must also be concerned about maintaining their authenticity and proper packaging. This issue is particularly relevant following the recent controversy in which comedian Vir Das released a viral video claiming that Zepto delivered him a fake Apple Watch that he ordered from quick commerce platform Zepto for Rs 50,000 for his shoot. Now, Zepto has also responded to the claims.

Okay. Am I wrong, do all apple watches look like this or is @ZeptoNow @zeptocares being shady with china copies? By the way their customer device agent on the phone said there’s nothing they could do. Full scam. We needed one quick for a shoot. They charged us 50k.
