Zomato has decided to change the name of its parent company to Eternal Ltd. This has created confusion among the customers who have been using the food delivery brand for many years. Zomato is a popular food delivery platform by Deepinder Goyal, who has expanded the business by acquiring the Indian quick commerce service, Blinkit. According to reports, Eternal Ltd. will act as the parent entity for Zomato, Blinkit, Hyperpure, and District businesses. However, many users misinterpreted the information as a total rebranding of the Zomato app itself.
On February 6th, 2025, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal posted on X, saying that he was finally rebranding Zomato. He revealed that in-house, they had been using the name “Eternal” for more than two years after acquiring Blinkit (previously Grofers). He mentioned that the rebranding was suggested to distinguish the company from its food delivery brand Zomato. Now, Blinkit has also become a big part of the future for the company, Goyal thought that this would be an apt time to announce the name change.
